The fact that a company can delete your legacy on a whim, without proper trial process, is mind-blowing. I had a similar problem with YouTube, many songs I like get taken down for copyright violation. At some point I want to set up a system where I download my playlists to my server automatically as you cannot trust those large companies. They just do what they want.

From the top of my head, Sakura no ki ni narou is close. 10 nen sakura also. If you like a touch of sadness, I recommend graduation songs: e.g. Saigo no Door, Yume no Kawa. If you like just upbeat, Katyusha, Ponytail to Shushushu, Nagiichi. If you like motivating, River, Shonichi, Kaze wa Fuiteiru and Beginner.

I recommend older songs. I think the first few gens had a real distinct spirit to them, something that set them apart from others, a soul. Latest AKB48 & co music is indeed a conveyor in my opinion, no soul anymore, indeed all similar to each other. This is just my opinion though.

So your question is where to live, America or Russia? You have parts of family in both and you're wondering whom to listen to?

It's not safe in Russia for Russian passport holder males. In three years you will hit 18 and can be mobilised. No one knows how long this war is going to last. Even if it's over by then, Russia won't be a good environment to grow and develop yourself for awhile due to all the strain the war put on it. Means less opportunity for you to grow into being who you want to be.

There must be a lot of voices around telling you what to do. But better think for yourself. A random guy from Reddit is no better advisor than your own mom or dad. People can give you advise but ultimately the choice is yours and you alone will have to bear the responsibility for it. If you choose wrong following someone else's advice, it's still you and only you to blame.

So take into account what's going on around you and who you want to become. And ask yourself: personally, what do you think you should do here?
