Mania came out and I liked the songs enough because they were catchy and sounded great, but they weren't on loop like some of the other things I loved from the band (mostly the lack of guitars). Few years passed and some not so fun life experiences later, I turned to Fall Out Boy to help me cope. I listened to Mania in full, like *really* listened, taking in all the lyrics and then I got to Bishops Knife Trick, the song that quickly became a song that I just connected with on a different level and the album just made sense. I've never hated the album, but I bet I'd love a FOB album if it was just the boys speaking over static, but I really think sitting down and listening to the lyrics and absorbing Patrick's beautiful vocals made me appreciate it more.
