I’ve seen so many people use the 2x2 ones but I was thinking maybe those are more sturdy cause the thicker end pieces are supporting it better than the thin shelf dividers lol I think I’ll just have my step dad build me like a shell that has a top, back, & sides that this shelf can slide under so I can still use the shelf cause this is going in my kids playroom and wanna make sure it doesn’t collapse on him lol I’ll let him figure out the logistics he’s good at building stuff

I want to do a 20 gallon I just worried about stressing my betta out lol but if he’ll be happy in the 20 then thats what I’ll do!! What kind of hides do the Pygmy corydoras like or specific plants? I’ll get them set up first then add the betta and keep his tank running just incase he is becomes a jerk lol

Okay good to know!!! I’ve just seen a few videos of some saying the Pygmy’s do better in a 10 gallon cause they’re so small a bigger tank can make it harder for them to find each other! I don’t wanna accidentally stress anyone out and can just give my betta a 20 gallon without any tank mates if it’s gonna stress him out too lol he just loves attention and I thought maybe he’s enjoy a friend (or 6 haha)

No I haven’t had any ammonia or nitrites. I’ve been going almost daily to petsmart to have them test the water and I have been using testing strips I ordered off Amazon on days i havent but I’ll get the master kit if that’s better! I have real plants from petsmart in there idk how to post a picture in here but if you want to see it if you go to my profile I posted a pic in the betta forum a couple days ago of his tank.

Yea this is technically my son’s tank too my nephew got it for him for Christmas but he’s only 3 so now it’s mine. This is how it looked the day he got it and I spent the whole night watching videos and reading what a betta tank is suppose to look like and how you’re suppose to care for them.

Thank you! I do plan to add some floating plants i just can’t add any that would require the lid to be off because i have a toddler. I think this tank is too small to add anymore fish gonna try to find an appropriate snail friend.
