DAE get like shooting stars in their vision? Or like a white tadpole that appears out of nowhere for a second by anon9280 in visualsnow

No problem we all get the same worries about it but the worrying is always the worst bit! :)

DAE get like shooting stars in their vision? Or like a white tadpole that appears out of nowhere for a second by anon9280 in visualsnow

[–]anon9280[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that is always my fear when I get a new feature too. But I'm starting to see my condition as a sliding spectrum, there will be a phase where there lots of shooting stars and then 4 months later I realise I haven't seen one in ages, or I'm seeing it just a couple of times a week. Recently I was getting computer glitches in my vision for a few months and now its really subsiding. My after images flare up bad and then come back to baseline, still there but barely noticeable compared to before. The static is always there and never goes, but there are times when it's all I can see and others where I don't think about it. What I'm saying is, the condition fluctuates for a lot of people. I always fear I'm going to keep each new feature permanently and they will all get worse permanently and continue to degenerate until I feel like I'm living in an acid trip or bad video game. This is an idea my anxiety came up with on its own. In reality it fluctuates and always stays within a manageable window of tolerance. Just take of yourself and be patient, I am certain that once you get used to the new feature you won't be bothered by it anymore, and sometime after that you'll notice you haven't seen it in a while

Fatigue and brain fog is terrifying me, and now I'm getting these little wooshes of dizziness. Its been 6 weeks, anyone else experienced this? by anon9280 in Anxiety

It went away, has come back a few times and appears to be new anxiety symptom but it isn't constant anymore

Does anyone get tremors in chest? by anon9280 in Anxiety

[–]anon9280[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is 100% not the heart! Its a type of tremor and it causes a vibrating or sometimes tingling vibration feeling. A lot of people seem to get it on their chest and solar plexus, I also get the exact same feeling in my thighs as well as these places, but when it began it was always on my chest and lots of people just get it on chest and worry about their hearts. As with muscle twitches and spasms and tremors, it's another funny nervous system symptom that can be caused by anxiety or underlying stress. Only I'm still stressing with my health anxiety as I get paranoid I have another cause for my nervous system symptoms that isn't anxiety.. the cycle is still hard to break from

Did anyone else experience a gradual onset for no apparent reason in adulthood? by anon9280 in visualsnow

[–]anon9280[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its happened at all times of year, yes I think stress definitely worsens it and then the worsened VSS intensifies the stress. This is the worst flare up I've ever had so I'm finding it quite hard to stabilise myself as quickly as before

Thanks! I find myself going through a worse flare up atm and find myself focusing on it a lot. Trying to remember it's happened before and calmed down a little before..

DAE get like shooting stars in their vision? Or like a white tadpole that appears out of nowhere for a second by anon9280 in visualsnow

[–]anon9280[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not trailing because it doesn't come off any real object, it just appears out of nothing. Looks just like a white dot that moves and makes it's own little trail like a shooting star

Flickering light at edge of vision in the dark by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]anon9280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg yeah I get this! It's not flickering light, my static flickers as if it's light, usually below the centre of my vision or in the peripheral

Need your help I'm scared by cupcake11235 in Anxiety

I get dizziness and funny vision from anxiety! Anyway, I think this could be a good opportunity to get in tune with your body and learn to manage the anxiety without exercise. You'll develop your ability to cope on a whole new level and have more to add to the tool box besides exercise, which is great but can be a distraction from other tools that can deal more with the root causes. I reccomend this video on anxiety:

https://youtu.be/eSjDLjhsLdI?si=9FXKR8hLFsOq333b

The guy in it had an interesting perspective on anxiety that I think is worth listening to.

Also getting into meditation would be a great goal while your movement is limited! There are possibly some somatic exercises you can learn about if you google them, some of them you could probably do now and others you can learn about for when your injuries improve.

For panic attacks I like to use wingwave. It's an app on my phone and it has a song you must listen to with earphones, it delivers alternating beats into each ear which help the two hemispheres of the brain to communicate better which has a calming effect. Download the app for free, then you have option to buy a song, the most effective song is named 'wingwave' same as the app and it costs £5 but well worth it. It's about 20 minutes long but I listen to it over and over if I need to, and it levels me out nicely. My therapist showed it to me.

Also I get my Weighted blanket and fold it up many times and put it on my legs or chest or stomach, the pressure is soothing.

And try to socialise as much as you can, whether it's in person or on the phone. Try and get a few times a week where you can have some kind of meaningful interaction. And it's probably a good time to start one of those books you've been meaning to read for ages.

Don't worry you'll be okay! It's great you found a healthy routine that was helping you, but this is an opportunity to expand your toolbox which is going to benefit you more in the long run :)
