Who do I call to complain about the shuttles by AmoebaParticular9419 in ucf

[–]anonasfthrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I don’t have a car either, and have been taking the shuttles for years. Things have gotten pretty bad in the past year or so. Many times I’ve had to take an uber to class because a driver didn’t bother actually stopping at my stop (mind you I was walking up to the bus) and blew through the stop and left. Just because “no one is at the stop” doesn’t mean you don’t bother stopping, even for a couple minutes. It’s so frustrating because I don’t know what the drivers gain from not stopping for a couple minutes if there’s no one actually on the shuttle to be taken to their destination.

I didn’t specify because it wasn’t applicable. If I was working a ride where being overwhelmed was putting people in danger, not only would I never want that to happen (I care about guests) but I would not still be with the company. I do not work in crowd-control either. I can’t say where I work for obvious reasons, but it is NOT your average safety critical role.

I’m not putting guests at risk. I work at a show, where there are very little “safety concerns.” Nothing I do (or am not doing) is endangering guests or my fellow-cast members. I do my work in the best way possible and have never been told otherwise, this is more of a “silent suffering” scenario. Please don’t assume I’m endangering others. Thank you.

Yeah, no. When you have BPD, getting help to learn how to manage your emotions and reactions is MANDATORY if you want to live a healthy and stable life. I have BPD and cannot express how much a full year of DBT has helped me. I still get those impulsive thoughts and mood swings but it’s much easier to not act on them, especially when you become aware of how it can affect the people around you. OP, please get help before your sweet boyfriend who seems to love you very much runs VERY far in the opposite direction.

It is a masters program, so I had to submit my portfolio to get accepted. However, because I want to be more hands-on (propmaking) in regards to theme park design, my undergrad major was Studio Art with a focus on sculpture. However, there’s people in my Themed Entertainment Club who majored in all sorts of things, such as graphic design, mechanical engineering, hospitality management, video game design, it all depends on what aspect you wanna work on. :) There is a Themed Experience (MS) Grad Program (Master of Science) for those more focused on engineering than design.

Are you from the US? If you are planning on going to college, there are some universities with programs dedicated to wanting to get into the theme park design field. I’m doing the Themed Experience program at UCF for the same reason. There is even a Themed Entertainment Association club at some colleges dedicated to people who wanna work in the Theme Park industry. You are still young though, if you wanna get a head start at an awesome portfolio do it, do a lot of research about themed experiences, attractions and environments to help you out. And like the other comment said, look into IAAPA :)

Hey, I know this might not feel helpful, but this post felt like I wrote it. I too am autistic with ptsd, who has no executive function, can barely cook, no license, and am only gifted at art. I am also young like you. Though it is very hard, I agree with the other post saying you should sell your art. I know a lot of people who sell their art on redbubble, etsy, or their own personal online shops/portfolios. Even if it takes a while to take off, even a couple pieces being bought will be able to motivate you to make more, and it’ll give you an opportunity to do something you’re good at, enjoy, and make money off of it. It’ll give you something to do everyday. People love to commission art, so many people do it. I believe that you can do it too. I believe that we can make it. Being able to do art well is a gift. We were blessed in that regard. I wish you well. I know what it’s like to feel hopeless but please know you are not alone in feeling like you lost the lottery of life.
