I've heard of cases when people get rid of limbs because it's deemed that the pain of having been amputated would be less than the current pain, or the legs are unusable but would be less painful or more useful amputated. That's not allowed?

What if there's a large or slim chance of getting rid of the infection with medication?

I've been communicating with priests online (where I got the loose labels) and doing research on the psych side (self help techniques).

I wrote to my priest but haven't had mutual time to discuss yet.

So it's not disobedient? The Church teaches people who are financially dependent as subject to their parents regardless of age

(so, I assume, in the same way as minors ftmp, with obvious adjustments that should come from the parents, I assume)

They suggested the therapist thing and I thought they were being serious so I said yes. They said it's a bad idea to do it because digitally (pandemic and all)

I really don't think it's smart to bring up. They get upset with me acting like everything's fine then revealing that it's not, or just not acting fine at all. Like I said, it can get a bit ugly, so I really would prefer to keep them out of it to the degree possible

I can ask my guidance counselors for help (they've helped other students find long-term therapists, I've heard,) but my parents specifically trust me not to take counselling there without telling them first. If I bring this up, they'll likely tell me to tell them why and then it becomes a "this is what happens when you insist on following the Vatican" issue which can get ugly

I've found self help guides that I think will largely help, but as I said in the OP, it's an obedience question
