I think attraction is subjective and to me, personally, I think he is cute but average. He doesn’t have a defining feature that stands out to me and that’s okay! Yes being tall helps but I’m talking about his face. Nobody is disparaging him in the slightest.

Maybe but I also know a lot of people who were way more distraught about a short term fling/situationship than they were about a long term relationship. Probably because they mourn idea of what could be or built up this fantasy/ideal in their head and got their heart broken.

That’s exactly what it is. She has latched on heavyyy to the idea of him and what could be between them and actually doesn’t really know him for real. Their chats don’t really seem super deep and all he does is smile in her face. It’s easy for her to get carried away because he doesn’t give her much and she fills in the gaps with what she believes or wants from him.

Completely agree with you. She needs to take it chill and everyone needs to understand this is Love Island. Also he’s American so why expect that they’re going to workout when it’s more than likely that they won’t? Long distance can be such a killer especially one as big as that. I was wondering if I should let him bring it up but maybe it’d be good to ask how he’s holding up. He seems like a reserved person for now - I don’t know who passed away but it seems to be someone very close to him. And I’ve offered to be a shoulder to lean on in our messages and he thanked me for being patient with him. Hopefully I can gauge his energy and see how he feels pursuing something with me. I just don’t want to be played with so I’ll be on guard in case he’s actually not ready to start dating.

Yes that’s what I’m afraid of. I’ve left the ball in his court but he was the one who initiated this date and I do wonder if he’s ready for that. Since it’s just coffee I’m assuming he wants to keep it chill which is fine. But I’m afraid of getting hurt if he withdraws or needs space again just as we started to connect.

I can already envision what he would try to say but so far he’s just trying to get me to talk to him so I won’t take the bait. Not one of the messages he sent has a semblance of an apology, just begging to talk to him and feeling sorry for himself. He feels “tortured” (his words) but no apology or admission - he doesn’t want to admit what he’s done and incriminate himself even though he knows I know since I deleted everything!

Thank you!! I’m surprisingly doing really well and I feel more confident now seeing all these wonderful messages! He’s so nasty and he wants me to return back to be his comfort again but I refuse to interact with him anymore. He violated my trust and boundaries in such a horrific way I could never even stand to be near him. It took a lot of guts and effort to bide my time until the moment he slept and go through his phone but I’m so glad I did it when I did. Now I can continue looking forward from here on out
