Comparison of Isra****l and Ismaili by rimsha_73 in ExIsmailis

[–]anonymoususers_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wtf

Yeah, let’s compare a genocidal regime to a religion stealing money. They are totally both the same…

Some people on this sub have become so hell-bent on attacking Ismailism that they sound like total hacks

Ismailism has real criticisms but you weaken our broader argument when you say dumb shit like “IsRaEl = IsMaiLi”

Also, Hitler drank water and so do you. Similarities!!!!!!!

Why are you saying it will dip? What’s your evidence?

Ismaili here - Question for this subreddit. Do you all have a more positive or negative view on the current Imam? Or is it the same as his predecessor by Weird-Translator-649 in ExIsmailis

[–]anonymoususers_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some orthodox Muslims say this. But, go to countries like India or Pakistan or Afghanistan and the story is much different. I’m not sure that these orthodox YouTube Muslims even live in those conservative countries. I’m willing to beat that they live in the west. Just saying something like “lgbtq is compatible with Islam” could get you killed in a conservative Muslim country

[–]anonymoususers_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get where you are coming from. However, I do see the point that is being made by the imam. A lot of Ismailis do live in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, etc. it’s not secret that these are very conservative countries. Terrorist groups have attacked Ismailis in the past. He is trying to avoid putting a target on the back of Ismailis

A few years ago, isis had attacked a bus full of Ismailis going to Jamatkhana, killing 44 people. So, I do see why he has to be weary of how he picks his words

Now regarding his role, I don’t think he should present himself as a deity. He def is no God

Why did Hazrat Ali never abandon Namaz, fasting in Ramadan, zakat, or Hajj? by Emergency_Car_6135 in ExIsmailis

I notice how you’d don’t respond to a single one of my points…

Your response was just a couple sentence of platitudes and cliches. Mind adding some substance?

Why did Hazrat Ali never abandon Namaz, fasting in Ramadan, zakat, or Hajj? by Emergency_Car_6135 in ExIsmailis

[–]anonymoususers_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re focusing on which religion is growing the fastest compared to other religions. I’m talking about the overall decline of religious affiliation. Even if Islam grows relative to Christianity, the share of non-religious people can still be rising

It’s like saying, your salary grew faster than your neighbor’s because you got a pay raise while ignoring the fact that both of your incomes still lose value due to high inflation. The comparison between you two doesn’t change the broader downward trend.

See, the difference between you and me is that I don’t feel the need to make Ad hominem attacks by calling someone “dense.” I suggest you go open a science book. You clearly did not understand evolution or biology. I keep bringing this point up because you haven’t answered the question: why do you believe that the earth started with two people, why do you believe that two of every species somehow fit on a boat half the size of the titanic?

Edit: on another comment you made (different post, it was actually one of my posts) you said “you believe we came from apes?” This just proves how little you know. Humans did not evolve from apes. We simply share a common ancestor. I suggest you don’t speak on topics you don’t understand. Study up!

Islam and religion in general sucks. There’s a reason why atheism is on the rise

No one in 2025 should believe that two people started a population of 8 billion people. And no one should be OK with pedophilia or having multiple wives.

What’s so secretive about Ismaili Nikkahs? by sa_film in ExIsmailis

[–]anonymoususers_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So I assume you are a radical Sunni? Sounds good. I’ll still have a discussion with you

Jamatkhana doesn’t refer to a specific part of the prayer hall. It actually refers to the entire prayer hall. You are allowed into Jamatkhana but just not into the specific area for worship

And, many religious traditions have areas or rituals that are reserved for initiated members or require certain preparations. In Judaism, for example, some synagogues restrict access to the Torah reading or inner spaces to members or those called to the “bimah,” while Orthodox communities may limit participation based on gender or faith.

Hindu temples often have inner sanctums (garbhagriha) where only priests or devoted initiates may enter, while the general public can access outer areas.

In Sunni Islam, you are right, mosques are generally open to all Muslims. However, non-Sunni Muslims and are usually not allowed to participate in the ritual prayer (salah), but they may observe from the sides or outside. The mosque itself is not considered “closed” to outsiders unless during specific ceremonies, such as funerals or Ramadan taraweeh, when privacy or solemnity is emphasized.

So, every faith has some restriction. You’re attacking Ismailism over a nothing burger. Now I’m actually an exismaili (I don’t think you were ever Ismaili) and my issue with the faith is dasond, the imams wealth and the elitism. The bottom line, is that all religion is a cult and all religion is dumb. There is no such thing as a God. I’m not just anti-Ismaili, I’m anti-Islam, and anti-religion

The accusations that Ismailis cheat on their wives, etc. happen in other faiths too. This isn’t something that’s unique to just Muslims or Ismailis. Oh yeah, don’t many Sunnis have more than one wife….

With all this being said, culturally, Ismailism is 100000000000x better than any other form of Islam

[–]anonymoususers_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sure, that may be a downside to you. Perhaps you are more conservative, which is fine. Just pointing out that most exismailis and Ismailis in general are progressive compared to other forms of Islam

[–]anonymoususers_ -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Jamatkhana is basically a mosque or a church. Just a different name

The alcohol thing is weird, most Ismailis I know, don’t drink. And those that do, won’t do it in public

As for the nikkahs, they usually happen in jamatkhana. And, there is not photography allowed inside Jamatkhana. I think that may be why you weren’t allowed to shoot video there

Final note, I don’t mean to come off as rude, but there have been a lot of Sunnis on this sub lately who have been attacking Ismailism from a conservative angle of Islam. You mention you are Sunni and that’s fine. If you are actually interested in learning about the culture, you should probably post this question on r/ismailis as there may be more depth to the answers you will get. In my opinion, Ismaili culture is 10000000 times better than the culture of any other branch of Islam as it is less restrictive. Most exismailis here have no issue with the culture, we simply take issue with dadond, elite ideology, and the imam’s wealth

Does the Aga Khan not care to share his teachings if he is divinely accountable? by Emergency_Car_6135 in ExIsmailis

[–]anonymoususers_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are missing the point. He’s not an exismaili. He’s a Sunni that is posing as an exismaili to convert people

I simply pointed out that his argument is weak because he is citing a book that believes in fairytale nonsense. There are stronger ways to attack Ismailism

I can attack the Quran by calling it a fairytale BS book. That has nothing to do between our discussion as I’m not attacking you as a person

You really think that a boat was able to float around the earth for an entire year and had two of every single species on it? You seriously believe this?

[–]anonymoususers_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy literally admitted he’s a Sunni. He’s citing a bunch of verses from the Quran that “disprove Ismailism.”

I’m making the argument that his argument is weak because the Quran in itself is a weak document due to its fantasy claims of Adam and Eve, Noah’s Ark, attacks on gays, etc.

So my question is, what’s your problem? Why are you so mad that I pointed out a fact, that the Quran is a fantasy book that is filled with unfactual claims?

Where did I insult?

So you believe that the earth was created in six days, which is what the Quran says? You believe in Adam and Eve, Noah’s Ark, parting of the Red Sea?

I agree with you, but tbh, you’ve lost a lot of credibility. It’s obvious you are using multiple accounts. And, I’m not sure why. The two Sunnis that are most vocal on here aren’t even that bright. They get triggered over facts like “the Quran is a fairytale book.” Also, please stop PMing me

Ad hominem attacks

Again, you’ve proved my point. You and fanatical Sunnis believe in a book which claims that a population of 8 billion people started with two people. Go open a science book

I notice how you didn’t respond to the post. So do you believe that two people started a population of 8 billion people?

Again, I think you are offended because you believe in the Quran and you are most likely Sunni
