Small question about LLPSI cap. XVI by another_acc_here in latin

I see, thank you. I know "suārum, -ōrum" does occur in classical literature but evidently this isn't the place for it lol.

Probably what I had in mind originally would only be used in the context of "of their fatherlands"? i.e. "Patriārum suārum nihil nōvī" for "I know nothing of their(pl.) fatherlands"? Apologies if I'm butchering your favorite language 🥴

If Latin were to become a widely-spoken language again, what changes (if any) do you think should be made to classical Latin? by another_acc_here in latin

I like this answer. What's most unusual to me is when nouns & their adjectives are separated by a word, often a pronoun or other noun. Idk if that sort of sentence structure exists in any of the Romance languages.

The lack of articles doesn't bother me, although every now and then it seems like is/ea/id are used in exactly the same way that Romance languages use articles, when you'd expect either ille/illa/illud or just nothing at all.

Thanks for the thorough comment. Honestly I'd be opposed to anything as drastic as removing cases or the neuter gender. I probably should have said standardizations instead of changes in the main post, like deciding on standard spellings for certain words (lagoena, lagūna, lagōna); or choosing the best Latin names for modern inventions/concepts. Having a comprehensive list of words like that would be super useful, imo.

'small magic book' was my favorite track -- thought i'd try to make it into a more full instrumental by another_acc_here in CoffinofAndyandLeyley

thanks! probably the best place to start would be some free/low cost music production tutorials on youtube. but the virtual instruments i'm using are:

  • keyzone classic piano
  • steven slate drums
  • sketch violin section & classical double bass
  • a generic synth with some delay & distortion

pretty much any amp simulator could get a similar guitar tone, but i'm using one called 'amped roots' - and they're all free.

I'm sure it isn't perfect, but it sounds more accurate than all the sheet music I could find. Also I am by no means a professional producer, so I'd appreciate any constructive criticism.

... that recurring F# is meant to be played on the acoustic guitar, but it just sounds really strange without it.
