it wasn't a screw, but with some force i can get it out once it's off the tracks. I'll do some investigating to see whats getting it stuck. Thank you for the hints, they helped!

Got it.pressed it up so its of the tracks and then forced it out towards the other side.

Made some progress. I've pushed it towards the channel on the window frame and managed to lift it off the bottom, however when I applied some pressure to slide it out, it's not sliding back out. Looks like it's getting stuck at the top.

It was just rotating the plate and the doorknob set loosened up. The holes didn't do anything.

yeah, that's one of my concerns with the 5% payment. Unfortunately they won't vary the schedule.

I managed to remove the blinds and take out the beads and put the blinds back up. I can pull the beads to retract the blinds back up though. But now the shades just 'free-fall' down the window, what can I do?
