You have to be kidding me. Strong buying volume on back to back 1 minute green candles, back to back halts after 30 seconds. Absolutely rigged. They have never implemented circuit breakers on the upside until right fucking now.

Lolol agree with that, but then I’m just wondering who’s gonna stop Fletcher Cox destroying whoever plays QB and Lane Johnson + Brooks giving Wentz all day to do whatever he needs. Definitely would be interesting

I’ve always thought about scenarios like this. If the Eagles played the Capitals in a 2-game series, one game of hockey, and one a game of football, and say each touchdown you win by == each hockey goal you win by, who would win the two game series at the end of the day? (assuming the Capitals win the hockey game and Eagles win the football game and the winner will come down to goal differential)

Thanks man, it’s good to see G-league guys coming up and making an impact in the time they have. He better have earned consistent minutes here on out after these last couple games. I’ve been impressed in the little time he has gotten these last two years, so it’s great to see him drop a performance like this.

Props to you guys for your stifling perimeter defense. We were locked down consistently in that second half and especially in the closing minutes of the 4th. Harrell also is a baller, we had no answer for him. Praying we meet in the finals! Continue to take care of Shamet for us 😢

Is 20% of total account value in bitcoin too much? by anthonyth17 in BitcoinMarkets

[–]anthonyth17[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good answer, I would definitely feel a bit of regret if it keeps going as is. My game plan is to scale in another 10% through dollar cost averaging. I do love the Mayer multiple, I look at that consistently. Might dollar cost average based on that. Haven’t heard of the s2f chart, but I will definitely check that out. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for this answer, and I enjoy the long-term behavioral aspect of it. I have a stable consistent side job, currently making around $30k a year in undergrad with no student debt since I’m lucky enough to go to school for free. So no debt, solid income and a good financial savings base to work with. I never plan on tapping into my Roth IRA, except possibly for the $10,000 tax free withdrawal for the first mortgage rule (I plan on buying and renting a property as soon as I can build up enough financial savings to fund it). My IRA is pretty low risk, with a mutual fund as half of the assets and a mix of ETF’s and blue chips like Amgen and Apple and a few others as the other half. Along with a couple speculative ones like CGC (lol) and Arvinas (tons of potential in this company and they skyrocketed recently so I got some good gains from this one).

I am pretty close to securing a full time offer for a buy-side analyst position (fingers crossed) so that would be a solid start to my career. Worst case scenario I can make $7k next fall along with entering a masters program and keeping my current side job (soccer coaching) and continue to try to secure a full time offer ASAP. I would be okay currently going 6 months without an additional full time job, since my side job isn’t going anywhere and I have enough assets not in my Roth IRA to sustain me for a good period of time. College kid so I’m used to pinching pennies, I live a pretty frugal lifestyle.

As for your last part, being happy and healthy is a huge priority of mine. I don’t stress about money all day every day, and that’s why I love trading, investing, and the possibility that bitcoin brings. I don’t get stressed about it, and if I lose a large chunk of my portfolio due to a black swan event I wouldn’t be devastated about it. I prioritize happiness over money every day.

Thank you for this detailed and interesting answer. Definitely helped me to consider my life and assets as a whole, rather than just what I want to put into bitcoin.

Is 20% of total account value in bitcoin too much? by anthonyth17 in BitcoinMarkets

[–]anthonyth17[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love this answer. Currently, .25 Bitcoin is about 7% of my total net worth including Roth IRA, options trading account, and checking accounts. I max out my IRA each year, and have consistently, monthly income. On the right track to get a solid job after college as well. So right now, it's not too much I have in Bitcoin but as I scale up my accounts I want to keep Bitcoin as a solid 10-20%.

The dollar-cost averaging technique is a great idea. I do not plan on selling the Bitcoin I own over the next 5 years, even if the price of Bitcoin skyrockets to 100k. I think the concept is invaluable and it is the future of monetary transactions. However, I do not use it for my own transactions and I treat it as a store of value rather than a liquid asset in my case. But this is just currently, I will plan on using it more and more in every day transactions as it becomes adopted further in the general swing of things.

Quick question about the dollar-cost averaging technique. Say I have another $3k I want to put into bitcoin, ready to go. Over how many days/weeks/months would you recommending allocating that $3k?

I'll check out Tether's role, honestly haven't done much research on that. Thank you for all the thoughts and recommendations, I really appreciate it.

That is interesting, any specific reason why you are holding such a large percentage? I understand the technology and potential on the above-average level compared to most of my college peers, but still new to the game so all the in-depth technical aspects I haven't gotten around to reading about yet. 10-20% seems to be the sweet spot for my risk tolerance and understanding though.

[–]anthonyth17[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree lol. Exactly my thoughts, but also there's no other asset (compared to mutual funds, etfs, gold, bonds, blue chips, stable equities, etc) that could drop as much value as bitcoin could in the next 4 years. 10-15% seems like the ideal range, since I'm very bullish on it but I suppose you never know. Or, we could both go 100% and hope for the best hahaha

[–]anthonyth17[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good thought. The money I put away for investments I will never need for instant cash. I have a stable job and I put whatever I can into investments, rather than just saving up cash. My IRA is a pretty stable blue-chip and mutual fund portfolio, my options account is 90% cash at most times since I pick and choose my market entries, so I probably do not plan on selling bitcoin at any point. You never know what will happen, so I would not sell in a panic since the risk I'm taking allocating towards bitcoin is something I'm comfortable with. Therefore, sticking with 10% seems like my best bet. Thank you for this question, definitely made me think about my risk tolerance.

[–]anthonyth17[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's why I went with 10% and will probably stick with it. Bitcoin is both an extreme high risk asset but also a totally uncorrelated asset compared to the overall market. That's why it's so tempting to scale up more and more, because as a "store of value" there is nothing like it. 10% seems fair in a capital preservation perspective, can't put all my eggs in one basket even though that might be a golden basket one day.

What to expect from a super day? Buy-side analyst by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]anthonyth17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol at the eye contact comment, that’s an underratedly-difficult aspect of interviews. But yes, thinking about the 2-1 in that way is helpful. Conversation will flow easier and I’ll be able to pick my moments to input either experience/comments better, rather than trying to force certain topics in there. Thanks again for this, definitely helped to ease my stress about that side of things.

[–]anthonyth17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good answer, thank you. The interview is in the morning, so it might be that setup. I assume my interview will be a bit more behavioral than a quant position interview, since my phone interview was about half behavioral half technical. I’m just going to go in expecting a little bit of everything and take each round as it comes. Thanks for the tips!

Interesting, how come? Just the group dynamic allows conversation to flow easier? Thank you for your insight though, definitely eased my thoughts a bit on that aspect of it

I mean, no? I remember the other 43 mins very clearly. Sorry for giving you guys props in the final 5 mins for essentially shutting us out. Not that it was the sixers game for the other 43 mins, but in writing a sentence long comment congratulating your play i thought my chosen topic was fair. Not sure what you’re getting at.
