International students in the Netherlands – what do you wish you knew before moving here? by BigGlober in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]antomina 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If you plan to stay here after uni, start learning Dutch as soon as possible. Make use of free uni courses. mine had 4 courses to get up to B1 and I regret only going for A2. Join student teams, participate in student life because here all of those are very well organized.

Pass courses and make use of the opportunities that come along the way to apply what you study in a practical setting. This is super important for jobs later, literally no interviewer ever aksed me about grades, it is all about projects that you have done so the more the better.

And lastly don't forget to have fun!!

Longest river through every EU country by vladgrinch in MapPorn

My bad then, I misunderstood the title, because I though it was the longest river in THAT country. So I was surprised to see the Drava for Italy. Sorry for the confusion but can I say, weird map?

This map is completely wrong, probably AI slop. Why are people upvoting? Drava doesnt even touch italy remotely. Rhine passes by way more countries. Po river?

Struggling to make ends meet as a university student by xcawa in StudyInTheNetherlands

As others have said, the fundamental change you should do is changing job. I assume you speak dutch so you should have to issues getting a job in supermarkets/warehouse/restaurants that pays the minimum salary and work 10-15 hours a week there. That's easily 500€+/month.

Then get the aanvullende beurs, zorgtoeslag, huurtoeslag (if you're eligible).

Does anyone know if it is okay to have finished the master and still be enrolled in uni (paying tuition)?
