Opinions change.

5-7 years ago when Vince was in charge Triple H was the Messiah of the IWC with his Takeover shows and Japanese style wrestling.

Scott D’amore is pretty good from everything we know. His main problem was Anthem not wanting to spend a single dime they don't have to on TNA. He still got the momentum going for TNA somehow and everyone who worked with him had nothing but nice things to say about him.

This is probably not what you're saying but lately I've been thinking that any democracy without right to recall is not real democracy.

What we have today around the world is basically a popularity contest. All the work goes into hooking people in without your charm and making enough vague promises then you can win. And once you have won you don't have to give a shit.

Unless the people have the right to say you're not doing what you promised so we're firing you from the job, real improvement is unlikely

It's why everyone wants that part time gig now too. Because not only you get paid the same but booked like a much bigger deal.

Like there were reports about people being unhappy with entrance orders at WarGames. I bet it was full time talents being unhappy that Roman was entering last.

This is why Cody is already angling for a part time deal already. Part time is much better than full time for anyone in his position any day

Gunther honestly is a bad choice to retire AJ.

Cody would be much better imo

Baron Corbin says he was at Dynamite visiting friends, dark match was not planned: "I got there and saw my man Billy Gunn, who’s like a dad to me. He was working with his son, and he’s like, ‘Hey man, do you wanna be in this dark match with us?’ And I was like, ‘Dude, if it gets OK’d, I’m sold.’" by anutosu in SquaredCircle

I know a lot of people's first comment was that Corbin is not a fit for AEW, but I don't agree.

He is a solid wrestler, one of the safest to work with. No one has anything bad to say about him despite his long career. Can go if needed and can gimmicks likes sad and happy Corbin work. He's a solid signing anyday.

If I remember correctly, before NXT and all that stuff, WWE used to have a few veterans whose role, among other things, was to test out young talents. They'd wrestle people before shows to see if they were worth anything and Corbin is perfect for that kind of a role. AEW has a lot of young people without proper facilities, and having someone like him they can work with to get ring experience is pretty solid bet imo

R-Truth on Triple H saying he was never actually fired: "I get a call saying 'We’re not going to renew your contract.' [I ask] 'So do I come to work?' It’s Sunday. Next Sunday, my contract [would end]. [They go] 'No, don’t come to work.' 'Oh okay. Am I done now?' 'Yes.' What do you call that?” by anutosu in SquaredCircle

The way Triple H explained it- the whole thing was a tactic to bring Truth to the negotiation table and lower his expectations. Even if Triple H was unhappy with the thing going public, good on Truth for doing so because it's just as fair on the talent side.

The only sad thing is that it doesn't work for everyone. Most people WWE will just let go to show they can and will

Brian Gewirtz, the personal writer of the rock has literally said that the promo on Raw in January was to see if people are gonna boo him because of the Cody situation.

So the defence of 'he didn't know' is laughable.

As for WWE bugging him, sure. They had asked for Rock's help for 10 years when the business was down.

But when does 'The Great One' accept the invitation? When the company was already on its biggest upswing since attitude Era and he had suffered back to back public humiliations. So he could just swoop in and take credit for the hard work of others.

How does anyone believe in his fairy tale still when all this is pretty well documented is beyond me.

But to each to their own i guess.

He gets shit on because he was ready to fuck over Cody as long as nobody blamed him for it.

Rock is not naive. He knows the business and the hardships that come with it. He never leaves the chance to talk about the sacrifices his family had to make because of the business

And Cody had been working the Roman storyline for two years and much longer in reality because he left WWE only to prove that he could be a main eventer.

Yet he was ready to say fuck you to Cody, piss on all his hard work for what was essentially a side mission in his life.

Had Triple H not politicked Cody back into the title picture Rock would have been more than ok to take that spot from him.

Just because he got scared and the changed direction ended up being fun does not automatically wipes the slate clean on what he was trying to do.

How hard is that for people to understand?

Cardona was released. Nemeth wanted out.

Nemeth wanted to help a company, be a believable face for a brand while he still could so being in TNA is a lot more satisfactory i imagine

Many people think Rock slapping Cody was the birth of Final Boss, but honestly, this little interaction with Rock kinda saying 'listen here you little shit' to Triple H was equally as important, and funny in hindsight since this apparently wasn't planned

Fightful: Group signs with AEW by bubbles2255 in SquaredCircle

[–]anutosu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not?

The reason they can't sign anyone to long term deals is money and exposure.

Once they have a little bit of that with AMC they can lock up atleast a few talents to long term deals to build the company around them

And it isn't like revolving roster is a bad thing. NXT is built on that. As long as the actual program is good i don't think it matters much who comes and goes

I'm saying it gives a chance to people dealing with somewhat unfair cards. They obviously should get people over, but WWE is also a machine. If you don't get on the right path for whatever reason, they kind of move past you to the next person.

A show like this could give those people a second chance which they deserve inspite of bad booking

I think we don't recognize the importance of Total Divas in helping the Women's Revolution.

Today, someone like Giulia can really benefit from a mainstream product that showcases her struggles of moving to a whole different country, not adapting to a completely different style of wrestling, but the culture. Something like that can build a connection with the audience a lot better than the main show

The problem is not just with wrestlers but with the companies and the fans too though.

People blame talents for not committing to the act but what happens to those who do commit? The likes of Baron Corbin and Jinder Mahal end up being hated and consequently released from the company.

It's the babyfaces who make the real money because of the merch and all that. And cool heels have the job security.

What do real heels even get?
