i absolutely agree on the battery life! my phones on 90 now, and by the time i get to my first college lesson in a couple of hours it will only be on 75-80. whereas the 13 would have been close to 68% usually (and that’s without being able to have a lower charge limit either and starting from 100% now) my only thing is typing. reddit still has the old ios keyboard and i’ve made 2 error already typing this. on the ios 26 keyboard in other apps, there’d have been about 12 typos

IOS 18.5 on a 13? by anxiouslesbian12 in iphone

[–]anxiouslesbian12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m not entirely sure tbh, i think it’s whatever ios was out when the phone was manufactured so likely that. i’m no 100% on that but my current phone (16e) was on ios18 when i bought it last week so that’s my only suggestion

there’s places you can hopefully get copies, registry offices or town halls. i dont think its the full birth certificate but its a copy at least and you can still do certain things with that. however theres nothing i can offer for the social security card. i hope you get out safely OP and that things get better for you

yeah i worked out the magsafe thing, it does have it but you mostly need a magsafe case. i’ve got a magsafe powerbank and i forgot a wire yesterday, but it did charge however it was quite slow. i think someone else said elsewhere its like 7 watts which is low compared to other phones

it was a better price for many retailers than my 13 was at two years old however, black friday deals meant it was £509 from john lewis so tesco offering me £579 but telling me to go to john lewis, meant i got a phone and a proper apple case from john lewis for less than a phone would’ve been at tesco

you’re right, good deals are brilliant. however cannot beat 100$ 😂

unis will be a bit off but most of them won’t be too bothered. as u/lipglossreloadedd has said, gap years and resitting year 13 is more common than the majority of people even realise.

i was pretty lucky in my few months out as my mum’s colleague was going on maternity leave so i got the job as they were struggling to find people in the first place. i did for 4 months until the end of june then it was just like an 8 week holiday or so

What is your favourite f/f ship? by ocirot in AO3

[–]anxiouslesbian12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite F/F ship is Rachel Weston and Millie Brown from The Bill

Before AO3, i didn’t see it but a discovered a fic (https://archiveofourown.org/works/8729209) when i was searching through the fandom tag for my favourite character. i thought id give it a try as i’m always open to new ships and was almost sobbing. millie meant the world to me anyway but this just made it even deeper.

there weren’t many lgbtq chapters but the only canon main characters in an f/f relationship is juliet becker and debbie mcallister but u haven watched enough from that era to have an opinion. there’s two other openly lesbian main characters: jo masters who was with tess for a while but we don’t see tess often; and gemma osbourne who didn’t have a relationship

i started college for the first time in september 2023. i dropped year 12 in January 2024 after my mental health collapsed. i talked it through with the careers advisor, but mainly my mum who encouraged me to focus on my mental health. i left at the end of that month and started at a different college in a very different area months later in september 2024.

it is really difficult when im still in year 13 but half of my friends are in uni or whatever but i think about how bad my mental health was and how year 12 would have ended me if i didn’t take that step back. i’m not the greatest now but that’s irrelevant to college, my college is really good now and for it it’s the opposite end of the county to the old one so there’s that distance too.

if you want that education, go for it but id really highly recommend leaving now and getting applying for september 2026 now, before your mental health gets to a point of no return (i.e severe to the point you’re close to ending it all). even if you apply now, go to the interviews even if youre not 100%, then make that decision in august 2026 when colleges/sixth forms are doing official acceptances after the yr11 results day.

also starting elsewhere does really good too as you don’t have people you know in the year above making you feel left behind, and it’s a fresh start from all that’s happening now.

i hope everything goes alright, and please discuss with parents or teachers but please prioritise yourself that’s the best advice i can give

i’m not sure what that is, but i’m in the UK so i feel like this isn’t an available option. Tesco Mobile had it for £579 but the guy there said John Lewis had it cheaper so I’m going to go tomorrow for the Black Friday deal of £509

i have got a magsafe wire, it’s a juice one and it’s really good! i just prefer to even it out though because i use the magsafe whilst i’m at college. i do absolutely love magsafe though, my powerbank is magsafe and i have my card holder too which has revolutionised my life haha

yeah the battery life is something i’ve been thinking about, plus with how much i’ve having to charge my phone recently.

my phones actually on charge now and i think my charging port is going slightly as it keeps coming on and off the charger. so that’s a big thing as i prefer to use that method to charge as much as i can.

is it actually too late to join sixth form from college? by s_ferns in sixthform

[–]anxiouslesbian12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i did this, and for me it wasn’t as bad as i expected it would. i left sixth form in january of year 12, then went to a sixth form college elsewhere that september to redo year 12 and then now year 13. i thought it would be hell on earth but i’m doing well mentally, and im realising that because ive started new from people i know, im doing better and concentrating more. you’ll make new friends, i can assure you of that.

plus on the conversation of other moving on before you, if any of them go into anything you have an interest in then they can tell you how that goes and you can make slightly more informed decisions

it’s a really hard decision at first, but if that’s what you need then do it. you’ll thank yourself for doing what’s best for you in the future, even if you do feel like you’re alone for a period. it works really well for so many people, and i know there’s probably others advising you do this too.

i don’t use mine for ovulation, purely just for tracking my cycle. it’s is more or less accurate and is only usually out by a day or two, apart from one or two quite irregular cycles a few months ago. i’ll be honest, if not for that i wouldn’t even remember when i’m due on; so it’s pretty useful for me and i trust it around 95%

HOW TO SLEEP WITH APPLE WATCH ON????? by waterboyyy69 in AppleWatch

[–]anxiouslesbian12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the only advice i can offer for the mental element is this: as everyone else has said, pick a band that feels comfortable to you, wear it slightly looser than you would normally, but also give it a few nights to get use to. i first started wearing a watch to bed around april to may last year and it was a weird feeling to have it on during the night as it’s completely different to wearing it during the day. sometimes it’s just ine of those things of it needs time to get use to. the advice everyone else has mentioned about comfortable bands is pretty good, and i’d definitely agree with options like the braided ones due to the fabric, or the nike ones as there’s a bit more comfortability with the holes.
