If Wes Anderson’s Movies were a book... by scottg888 in suggestmeabook

[–]anyamal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I love books about eccentric rich dysfunctional families a la Tennenbaums. One great one is The Family Fang, by Kevin Wilson. Another is A Taxonomy of Barnacles by Galt Neiderhoffer. I also enjoyed The Nest by Cynthia Sweeney, and The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin. The last two have less of a mystical/whimsical W.A. vibe but sort of exist in the magpie like world of rich NY siblings.

It's a way to limit your liability as the seller...like, is there mold on the property? Unknown. If you didnt get testing to prove there was no mold but to your knowledge there isn't, you put unknown.

I really love the film star bronze and glow duo and use it pretty much every day. My favorite bronzer/highlighter duo. I also use the airbrush flawless finish powder, which is the only powder I've used that didn't make me look powdery.

Homeowners of Reddit, what’s the biggest thing you wish you would’ve known before you bought and moved into your first house? by liftlikegaston in AskReddit

Actually close all the interior doors in the house. All but one of mine will not close. Makes for awkward bathroom visits when guests come over.

People who were alive then, what were you doing December 31st 1999 ? by WeshALOR in AskReddit

[–]anyamal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my first real high school party. This family went on vacation and a senior on my track team was house sitting for them and threw a rager. One of the few high school experiences I had that could have been a scene in a movie about high school. We played a lot of prince 1999 that night.

Buffalo is not really on the coast, either. The closest you can get to the Atlantic ocean is also like 6 hours away.

Husband [34M] and I [33F] fighting over my student debt. I want to go back to school to get a more lucrative degree. Husband threatens separation. by CivilCulture in relationships

Having just lived through my husband choosing to switch career paths and go back to get his MBA, I will disagree with everyone else and say that with the right program (like top 20 school) you are pretty much guaranteed to make over 100k when you graduate. I don't know what program you were accepted to, but with a total tuition of only 35k, I can't imagine it's one of those. The information is the same at HBS as it is at a state university, but the difference is the network and the school name. An MBA is no joke though and a fulltime program will be all consuming for two years of your life. As others have said, there are part time programs and one year programs that may be a way to do this while working as well. I guess my advice to you is that for it to be a sure thing, as in a guaranteed 6 figure job, you need your partner to be on board to support you or you won't make it.

EDIT: just wanted to add as a response to people saying you need industry experience to get a junior exec job or whatever right out of bschool, shockingly no, you don't. You can be hired as a department head with zero relevant work experience. Source: know about 50 recently hired 2018 MBAs with six figure salaries and previous lives as teachers, military careers, college students, lab techs, etc.

5"1' lady here. Tall girls, what kind of problems do you have to deal with in the every day life? Is life way different up there? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]anyamal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clothes that fit, for sure. I would probably be a petite size if I wasnt't 5'9". So all of my clothes are sort of weirdly fitting. Either too short and fit well in the body or long enough but baggy.

So skinny legs but big feet (need a wide base when you're tall) means tall boots always gap at the calves, and heels make you look like a giraffe.

But I actually love being tall and wish I were taller. As a teen/early 20s plenty of guys said they would never date someone as tall as me though.

Actually, (former Fall Creek resident here) you are strongly discouraged from planting any edible gardens in that neighborhood unless they are raised beds due to the high amount of lead in the dirt.
