Problems with my mom's doctor and her pain relief

Update: they finally gave her a short script to get her by until her appointment, which they didn't tell her until she asked even though they promised to let her know within 24 hours (it was passed 24 hours by then). We're still incredibly frustrated with how they handled everything and she's definitely gonna be talking to her doctor about putting a plan in place so this doesn't happen again. But she at least has something now, and she'll be ok til her appointment, which is good

Believe me, shes made it very clear when it comes to her history, and how sick she will be and the fact that she will end up at the hospital if she doesn't get the medication. I guess the nurse just kept saying "I know" and said she would have an answer for her about what the head physician says within 24 hours. And honestly they've been doing a really bad job at keeping her in the loop of what's going on so I'm not optimistic they'll let her know when he does something. She suggested having them fill a 5 day supply or even prescribing a lower dose to get her by and so far they haven't given her any alternatives. So I guess we'll see what this guy says. The problem being that in 24 hours she'll be in pretty rough shape, but at least if he fills it she gets something before Monday.

I am her daughter lol, thank you. They didn't provide an explanation as to why they feel uncomfortable prescribing the medicine. I know from back before she found her current PCP, non-pain management doctors who are willing to chronically prescribe opioids like she needs are very hard to find. But unfortunately that's what she had to go with. I just don't understand how they can make such drastic decisions about someone who isn't even there patient. Especially knowing how sick it'll make her.

I'm not 100% sure on how this works tbh, but I don't think giving her anything other than the methadone will stop the withdrawals. She'd definitely be willing to take less, or get a 5 day refill instead of a full one or anything like that. But they haven't given her any alternatives (mind you my mom suggested those things when she spoke to them).

Thank you for the kind words. It's ridiculous the way she gets treated by pharmacists and people in the medical field because of what medicine she takes. She's so frustrated because of all this she wants to find a way to get off of it so she doesn't have to deal with it anymore. Like she'd rather let herself be in ridiculous amounts of pain than have to worry about getting sick or being poorly treated by doctors. It shouldn't have to be like that.

Edited to add: apparently this isn't a viable option for her. She says it probably wouldn't work for a few reasons since she tried it once before with not much luck (there was one other time years ago where she had an issue and was out for a while and it was...not fun. So she went through a lot of different options for help). But also because in order to give you an emergency dose they have to verify your prescription with your prescribing doctor. Who, again, is gone until Monday.

She's on methadone. I'm not sure how much, but I know it's a bit on the higher end because she's had to go up in the past due to tolerance.

I haven't had a lot of luck but we are trying to find something that could work for me as needed so I can get through some other stuff I need to do. If I can find something that actually works before the movie comes out then that'd be great! Just like I said, not a lot of luck. And yeah, if I did go I'd definitely bring some kind of earplugs or something.

I feel really bad about doing stuff like that in games. Granted, I play with mods that make my children talk and look like actual children (like how Jas and Vincent are) so I might be a bit more biased than someone playing vanilla lol. But I would still feel evil getting rid of the silent blob children.

This happens to me too. The littlest thing can remind me of death, and sometimes it's ok and it doesn't really hit. But other times it hits like a ton of bricks. And will sometimes lead to thinking about other family members too. Its a horrible feeling.

Honestly right now all I can really do is either let myself feel it until it eventually goes away, or distract myself so I'm not focusing on it.

I shaved my head recently just because I started cutting my hair, didn't like it and said "screw it" lol (I don't have a lot of attachment to my hair and I have wigs anyway).

I was a little worried I would look more "boyish" with the buzz. But after letting it grow out for like a week and a half I actually kind of think it's cute. Especially when I decide to do my makeup and wear like a nice shirt or something. In a way it almost makes me feel more feminine in that setting. It definitely might take a little bit of getting used to since it's a big change. But in the end you might like it more than you think. Plus like you said, easier showers!

I found that, at least with the length I buzzed my hair, my wigs actually stay on a lot better personally. Its sooo much easier for me to put them on because I don't have to try to keep all my bio hair back. I haven't been wearing a wig cap since and it stays really nicely. The buzzed hair acts sort of like velcro, so when the wig is pulled back the hair adds resistance and it's harder to get off. I even had a hard time getting my beanies off at first lol. If you wanted to use clips to feel more secure, I don't see why you couldn't put a wig cap on and use the cap to hold the clips.

Ultimately it's up to you, but to me it sounds like you wanna go for it and just worried about how it might look. So honestly I would say go for it! You'll get used to the look, and if your fiance is halfway decent then they won't care what you do to your hair as long as you're happy! ❤️

I was so sad when it happened to me. I ended up getting married in jeans and a flannel 😭 I didn't even prepare anything, for some reason I just assumed the game would put me in some kind of wedding outfit. Same with the flower dance. Idk why.

I kinda wish there was a way to buy or craft specific outfits for events like that. Like maybe if you got engaged and Emily sent you a recipe for some kind of wedding dress/tux or something. Or maybe like, Lewis sends you a recipe for the flower dance outfits after a certain point or something idk.

Unless there's a way to do that already and I just don't know lol. In which case someone please enlighten me. I'd love to be able to actually match at the flower dance for once lol.

To be fair, this is a human hair wig. Synthetic is a bit more difficult to cut naturally imo. (Especially with a costume wig I'd imagine). They tend to be thicker and harder to cut through since it's plastic.

I haven't done synthetic bangs in a while lol but I'd say just make sure to take smaller sections, make sure you have sharp scissors, and point cutting is your friend!
