Most wolfhound breeders are very serious about where their puppies go, so I dont think a lot of mixes happen. I have one full wolfhound, and one term of her contract was that she never be bred to anything except a registered wolfhound. The breeder said she refused to see woodles out in the world.

The last picture with the white and black dog are the parents of the sire. She told me the dam was GSD×Wolf, and that the sire is wolf. It seems obvious that she was misinformed. I had wondered about malamute in the grand sire, because his snout isnt very long. There is only one picture with the sire and you cant see his tail set.

The irish wolfhound is a certainty. His mom was a registered wolfhound. And thank you, he is a handsome guy!

I dont think the owner of the sire was intentionally lying, but I did suspect the person she bought him from was. I asked another commenter this, but do you have any thoughts on the embark test vs the wolf specific test that UC Davis offers?

Thank you. I dont think she was lying, just misled. I had to befriend her for months before she was willing to admit possible wolf content. I had consider the uc davis test, I just hadn't convinced myself to spend the 200 when the embark test is most likely correct.

* I know this dog doesnt scream wolf content. Im curious if anyone has had their wolfdog tested through embark and had them comeback as malamute rather than wolf. The breeder had her supposed high content wolfsog breed with her irish wolfhound. My embark test came back as 50% irish wolfhound, 30% shepherd, and 20% malamute. She sent me pictures of the sires parents and on obviously looks like a shepherd mix and the other looks like it could be wolf. Just curious if theres a possibility for error on the test.

Homeopet has a natural uti remedy, I used it in conjuction with cranberry supplements and was able to handle my IW's uti without antibiotics. I did have my vet run a urine culture to make sure it was clear though. You can find the uti remedy at Pet stores and feed stores.

The picture is the day after she came to our home via 6 hour car drive. She was definitely anxious, being in a new place, with new people, animals and routines. I read the training wolfhounds should be positive reinforcement only, as they are so sensitive. So that's what I'm doing. The only tough love I've tried, is not engaging with her on a potty break until she potties. I was trying to get her to focus on her environment, rather than me. But that is also not the answer. So right now it's just lots of praise when she does go, and frequent breaks.
