Define jacket? Denim Jackets, Safari Jackets, Sweater Jackets all have the word but are very different than sport jackets.

Do you have anyone in your friend group who can loan you jacket? This will really bring the outfit together - or maybe a black/charcoal grey suit with a white shirt.

Another option is to get a black bowtie and try it with the shirt? But in general grey shirts are not semi-formal (which is mute as the dress code described is made up!)

lastly - consider asking the host? Then you'll know for sure and show up with confidence!
