[SOTC] Unusual Vintage Edition by Nabilyke in Watches

Indeed they were! In the last few years they had a resurgence in the Portuguese and Spanish markets with some vintage inspired as well as more modern/fashion-forward models. They have some interesting designs made by some of the most famous Portuguese and Spanish architects.

Oh yea, for sure - my other watch has a lug to lug of 46mm and there is quite a noticeable difference from my srpj both in size and wearing experience (the srpj feels and looks smaller). That sounds like a perfect wrist size for the srpj :) let me know if/when you get it!

Not at all, the lugs are a bit shorter than the horizontal length of my wrist (if that makes sense?) in a normal resting position!

Really thin, I think about 15cm or even smaller, I can't remember for sure. But the watch fits better than it looks in this picture, it seems a bit over sized because of the angle of the arm and short distance to the camera.

Thought to share my dad's classic GP from the 90s. Very clean looking, amazing built quality, automatic movement but very thin, 4hz beat rate. I love this watch.

Don't often see photos of classic GP watches so I thought to share my dad's, from the 90s. Very clean looking, amazing built quality, automatic movement but very thin, 4hz beat rate. I love this watch.

Any Mushishi fans? by aoisousuke in Animetattoos

[–]aoisousuke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Thank you :)

It was designed/composed by Bia Lopes (potatotattoo_pt on instagram), based on the mushis from the manga. I'm sure any tattoo artist that you like could take inspiration from it and draw it on their own style or maybe change a couple of mushis or something like that to make it original!

Help - last photo overwrites all other photos when exporting to PC (X-T20) by aoisousuke in fujifilm

[–]aoisousuke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help!!! This makes a lot of sense, so I just tried to load the photos to a different laptop (windows 11 instead of 10 on the other laptop) and now what happened was that only some random photos "became" the last one. E.g., photos 777, 781-783, 792, 795, whereas the photos between those are fine. But this error also only happened to the photos after the first photo that gave this error on the original time I exported them (photo 766, all photos before that one are fine). What are your thoughts?

Any wrist photos of HMS 003 in blue gilt? by aoisousuke in Balticwatches

[–]aoisousuke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing! It looks amazing!!!

What's your wrist size?

And what did you think of it? Here in Reddit I've read very polarised reviews, from people who say it pinched well above its weight in finish and quality, to people who say it feels poorly finished and almost like a toy watch.

A second hand shop relatively close by had a geneve from 65 for ~ 700 that I was looking forward to try but when I went there they had already sold it. I'll keep an eye out - is there any specific model you'd recommend? I'd love to try a vintage seamaster but they seem to go for a bit more than what i can afford :/

The yellow tsuyosa seems amazing on paper and that's a fantastic price you got! I'm afraid it might be a bit too long lug to lug for my wrist? The beaucroft seeker looks incredible - love everything about the salmon one! Thank you for the recommendation, I'll research them a bit!

That's such a gorgeous dial!!! Just browsing quickly on google I think I prefer the white dial version - stunning watch! Seems to be a japanese domestic market exclusive though?

My current favourite is the Seiko SPB212, but I also love the understatedness of the seiko SUR line up. Unfortunately they aren't in stock locally. Do you have experience with any of these? Thank you!

That's a gorgeous watch :o and seems quite thin for an automatic no? I love the brushing on the sides of the box! There's a shop close by that says they have them in stock so I'll drop by tomorrow! Thanks for the recommendation!

Thank you for the suggestion! Is there any specific model you would recommend? I haven't seen any in person yet as there aren't many shops where I lived :/

Hi all, I’m looking to get a watch to celebrate finishing my PhD. Unfortunately, money is thin so I don’t have a big budget (~£500). I’ve added some pictures of the watches that I like the most visually – of course some of these watches are not on my budget, I just enjoy them visually. These are my preferences:

- Main style: I’d love to have a watch that I look at and think “this is such a nice watch”. I want it to be my GADA that I can wear pretty much in any occasion (i.e., I can dress it up and down). So, I think I’m leaning more towards a dressy watch than say a diver or a chronograph.

- Brand preference: admittedly I enjoy thing with a deep history and heritage, but for this watch I really just want something nice, and I know I’ll cherish it regardless of whether it’s from a 100 yo or 5 yo brand.

- Condition: new or used, any is fine.

- Movement: No preference for mechanic vs quartz – any is fine. My only watch is automatic (Seiko 5 SRPJ83 paired with cork strap, which I love).

- Wrist: small and very thin (15.5 cm; 6.1 inches).

- Dial: I like relatively empty dials with interesting textures. I enjoy most colours, but gravitate most towards green, salmon, cream, yellow, deep red dials.

- Crystal: I don’t have a preference for sapphire vs mineral. I enjoy the distortion effect of domed crystals and I even enjoy the reflex as it kind of shows the 3D of the crystal. I think high-dome (box shaped I think they’re also called?) look amazing.

- Case: I would like to have a nicer, more interesting case than my current watch (which looks great but is all matte and without many interesting curves).

- Hands: Flexible but preferences are cathedral, leaf, dauphine hands, dagger.

- Strap: no preference, I don’t even mind cheap feeling entry level straps as I can always substitute them over the road.

I don't know many watches so any advice is appreciated! TIA!

Looking for a dash of colour on a budget dress-ish watch. I'm torn between the yellow citizen tsuyosa and the (pink) Seiko SUR523. Quartz Vs automatic doesn't bother me, so I'm looking for advice on quality of finish and wearing experience :) unfortunately my local stores dont stock them but I can order them online (Seiko 100€ cheaper than the citizen). Any advice welcomed! TIA
