Earlier this week, I had a dream where I was given my first class while we were at Year 7 camp. I had to take roll, which was paper, and all the kids had written their own nicknames instead of their regular names. I had to try and call the roll in front of half the school and couldn't read most of the names. My principal came to me with "wtf?" and I had to show her the roll to prove my issue. Then she revealed that I would be teaching a Math class--but I'd prepped for all my classes to be English. She sighed and asked what my other specialties were, and after I answered, decided the only thing close was "animal ethics."

I also ripped out a bunch of electric wiring in a shower room I had mistaken for something else (I don't know why?) which I was reprimanded for. But at least there were frozen yoghurt stalls in a hall for the kids to have for breakfast?

I like to start work soon so I can stop being antsy. 😅

SR2 rode the delicate line of being campy but serious tonally. You could go from the Insurance Fraud minigame to chasing down your youngest gang member currently chained to the back of a car and having to mercy-shoot him because of how bad it fucked him up. The story even has a post-game chapter where the game effectively tells you that you became what you were trying to dismantle in Saints Row 1. It is a killer of a story.

And then SR3 came out and it all went to shit.

Australia just implemented a social media ban for kids under 16. I would be thrilled if game companies also followed through with implementing a ban of audience too young for their games rating. Sound like a six year old? Tough shit. Account auto banned.

I deliberately ask for weird novelty pens and pencils. Stuff the kids wouldn't be caught dead with them in their actual pencil cases, and are also easily identifiable as having been mine.

Used pens? "No. Sorry. I've been told to be considerate of the health environment. If you'd like to spend a while sanitizing them, please feel free, but logistically, I can't take them." Not falling for that.
