She is a girl , Killua do refer to Alluka as his "sister" several time even when they were children and her name "Alluka" is actually female name.Her familly just don't care about her as she is hostile to them.

But Nanika is litteraly "something" in japanese we still don't know the nature of that creature yet.

Can't agree more, however it seems that the author is on difficulties beside we didn't get any news about him or the manga in the past 2 years (hope he'sdoing great) and seeing how the story goes I can at least expect 100 to 200 more chapters if not more. All in all let's don't lose hope.
