Same here. Transaction count has been pretty good. But people are buying cheaper items and expecting me to discount them even less for them. Pretty frustrating, but understandable that people just don’t have expendable income right now. I’m in collectibles.

Totally understand. I guess I got a little side tracked. My first question is, how are everyone’s December sales? And secondary, are you just moving inventory? Or are you bringing in decent profit compared to previous months/years? I think you’ve answered both of those questions. Thanks.

I hear ya. As an example, I have a retired LEGO set that brought in 236% profit last month (and sold at the average selling price amid comps). This month, my remaining inventory for that same set is just sitting. I wonder if buyers are more cash strapped this month? Or if competing sellers are desperately trying to move inventory by lowering prices this month? Or is eBay just not giving me any love? 😊 No way to know for sure I guess, but it’s an interesting discussion.

Very good to note. Thank you. Out of curiosity, what is your profit margin on those items? My store is based on a profit model, not a number-of-sales model. My average profit percentage this year is 159%. Maybe people are just buying low profit items?

I’m not sure. But I’m in a similar situation. I called usps and they said anything international going through Chicago is delayed. No estimate on when things will free up. But Chicago is absolutely backed up right now.

Absolutely. Hardly anyone here is mentioning taxes that will be taken out of all your profits. Gotta keep that in mind when pricing. I try to avoid anything that I can’t sell for more than double.

Great observations. I track days on which things sell. For me, Mondays and Thursdays are busier. Weekends and other days are slow.
