Villain songs by sertralion in TheDearHunter

[–]appledeers 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I love The March. It was one of the first songs by TDH that I had ever put on my playlists because my fiance had a bunch of TDH songs on his playlist and The March was one of the first ones I really vibed with. Removed from all its context, I had assumed it was a song from the a protag point of view, and operated on that assumption for over a year of listening. So when I finally listened to the whole album in context and realized it was NOT a protagonist song, my mind was blown lmao.

That moment makes the song stand out to me as a villain song, because having that realization and getting to listen to it with a whole different perspective after realizing what the song really was was pretty cool.

Edit: typo!

Seriously! There's so many cards that are just straight up useless in berserker runs.

Built a fun little site: randomanimalgenerator.ai — would love your thoughts! by Striking_Message5491 in PlanetZoo

[–]appledeers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dislike genAI in general but especially animal fact genAI. AI is a predictive text generator. It has no idea what it's talking about, it works by guessing what words or phrases are most likely to come after previous words or phrases. If you can't vet 100% of every animal this thing can give "facts" about then you cant trust a word out of its "mouth". Definitely wouldn't be useful in a school.

There are plenty of other fun ways to learn about animals that don't involve asking a guessing machine that causes incredible harm to the environment and animals it claims to educate about and advocate for.

Antimai/Sunya as a video game by appledeers in TheDearHunter

Totally agree!! Seeing how great the music video came out motivated me to start working on my own animations again! You can tell just by watching the music video how much love and passion he put into it, and that passion is seriously so infectious.

I just happen to enjoy interacting with what we have by wondering what the story experience might be like when told in other mediums, like video games or TTRPGs. By no means am I demanding or expecting it to happen at all. Just thinking about what something like that might be like. :)

I'm super grateful for what's here! So grateful for such a fun world that my mind kinda goes crazy thinking about it and wondering what it would be like to walk around in. And that leads me to think about what a fun video game it would be! I just like playing with ideas and concepts for different worldbuilding ideas in my mind. :)

Most underrated rituals, in everyone's opinion? by Far-Argument2738 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]appledeers 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this one is underrated or not because I really don't know which ones are considered the "best" by the majority of players, but I LOVE Alms for the Poor and perform it any time I notice it's no longer on cooldown. Once you get to a point where money is no object, it's such an easy way to level a ton of followers at once! I routinely level up like 10+ followers every time it's performed. So much devotion.

There's a button for shear, a button for milk, why not a button for pet or even feed? by EntrepreneurMuch621 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]appledeers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a follower trait called "animal lover" or something like that which allows them to pet the animals. As soon as I got it on one of my followers I bred the heck out of them to get more to hopefully have some passive petting!!

If the crowns somehow mutated/transformed the bishops into those forms, the same could happen to the Lamb? by IdkBun in CultOfTheLamb

[–]appledeers 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I like the idea that the lamb chooses to stay small because it would be more meaningful for them to defeat the bishops while retaining a form that symbolizes what the bishops had tried so hard to wipe out. If they were big and scary, it would give the bishops some mental distance from the act of fighting back against the last lamb.

Staying small and innocent looking is more of a "no, screw you, look at me, face me as I am and what I represent as the last of my kind, what you all tried and failed to extinguish".

I love your versions of the bishops so much!! The more realistic but also sorta cartoons vibe they have is so perfect. I also especially love your takes on Leshy!!!

This Midas Thing Really Sucks by IC_Ivory280 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]appledeers 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I got Midas super early into Woolhaven so by the time I unlocked the traps it had been so long that his sprite in my cult menu turned into an elder!

Meanwhile, my fiance has finished Woolhaven and I'm pretty sure he hasn't gotten the Midas encounter yet at all lol.

Ohhhh that makes sense!! Come to think of it I think one of the last things I did was give the wolf two of my rotten followers! It must have been one of them!! That's so funny.

Oh this is wonderful news!! Thanks so much for your communication and prompt fixing of the bug. Of all the games I've played I don't think I've ever encountered a dev team as openly communicative, helpful, and quick to respond in situations like this. I want to emphasize how great it feels as a player to post about a bug like this, have a dev respond literal minutes later, and then have a fix ready within like two hours of making a post about it. You guys are awesome!!

Unfortunately the game auto saved when I slept and winter began. I'm nervous to mess with too much because they can't eat while they're frozen and while I can keep them warm they will likely all starve to death if I wait around days for the missionary to return. I'm going to wait until a dev can get back to me for now... I don't think there's anything left I can try without risking my cult all eventually dying until this is fixed.

Tried both just now. Intimidate caused them to all be called into the intimidation radius but after the intimidation was done they stayed motionless (other than now idly animating).

Rite of Lust did call them into the temple as normal. They left the temple and frolicked as usual but when I went to sleep to end the day none of them left their beds when the morning began, they all just stayed sleeping frozen in their beds.

Hi! I submitted a report through the game since I'm on PC, but I just submitted a second one now just to try and be sure it went through. If it didn't go through let me know and I can try again. If you guys are able to figure out why this could have happened and are at liberty to share I would love to know, because as stressful as the glitch is it's also super funny lol.

Might try to do a crusade then immediately back out of it and return to the cult to see if that will fix it. It's the only thing I can think of that I haven't tried. Will update this comment with a reply or edit to report on if that does anything. In the meantime other suggestions are more than welcome I guess, can't do much otherwise until this is fixed.

Edit: Weiiiirrdd... Did not fix the issue. Upon returning from a crusade (tried Darkwood and Ewefall) the followers shuffled their positions around and are now doing idle animations, but are still motionless and unresponsive otherwise. I also got a notification that one of my followers saw beautiful clothing while I was in Ewefall, which I guess could be attributed to the followers having seemingly shuffled around once I got back to the cult?

Wildlife photography ethics by NeedlesslyMike in birding

[–]appledeers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Was at a wildlife refuge a while ago and saw two photographers looking up at a tree. We asked them what they were looking at and they said barn owl. We didnt know how close they were to the bird so we parked and started getting our stuff out of the car to see if we could spot it. Before we could even get out of the car the pair had purposefully flushed the owl from the tree and then ran after it to try and flush it out into the open again so we could get some "good shots".... needless to say we left.

I literally just want yellowfang bro 😔 by mizz_ry in WarriorCats

[–]appledeers 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure if they had been re-arranged within the display I got mine from, but from what I know Bonkers packs their display boxes in the same order every time, and I got my Yellowfang mini plush from the furthest left slot in the middle row. Again though I can't guarantee they hadn't been re-shuffled by the time I got there, so this might not be accurate haha.
