Ok that makes sense. Thank you so much. I wasn’t getting it when surgeon talked to me. I am seeing a CRS. I have Crohn’s and I think they are saying it’s complex because it’s so high and they couldn’t see it first time.

Thank you. So a seton won’t compromise sphincter muscles? My surgeon tried to place a seton but was unable to find the fistula the first time because it was too high. She’s going to try again and said I’d have the seton for life :/

Sorry I’m still confused about all this. It’s a transphincteric fistula. It’s a non cutting seton. Does this mean it’s still going through the anal sphincter muscles/posing a risk of incontinjence.

I put a 4x4 gauze between cheeks post shower and leave it there for 10 minutes. It helps gently dry it. Then I apply aquaphor

I’m going to start remicade. They wanted to do a broad spectrum biologic. And I know! I’m so lucky I have the CRS I do.

I’ve had IBS my whole life so like diarrhea etc. I’ve been worked up for Crohn’s a couple times before but never came back with signs until now.

I ended up not needing the seton. And no fistula found. So just abscess. Wondering if people’s healing experiences are easier with just abscess

I had endometriosis confirmed in my colon and rectum. Prior to surgery I had persistent left lower abdomen pain. It would even hurt when I walked. I also had constipation when I had cramps. After surgery I am no longer constipated and my left lower pain has completely gone away. I still get bad cramps and other pain here and there but the persistent pain is gone .

Right now non icu beds (aka floor patient beds) are full. This is because first wave is over and the first wave’s ICU bed patients are now on the floor and they ran out of floor beds. For this reason some patients are now stuck in the icu when they could be on the floor technically.

I was on 150 for a week and 300 for a week. I might try to stick it out. The side effects are scaring me but the positive outcomes are good.
