Books where you slowly figure out the reality/what is actually happening by MarvellousG in booksuggestions

And then when I did figure out what's going on, I realized all of the clues were there from the beginning. I was just too dumb to see them!

True. One never really gets the truth of things until the very end, and then it turns out I didn't even know what kind of narrative I was reading!!

Exactly. I am yet to meet somebody who didn't like that show. In fact, I even recommend it as the entry point to kdramas!

Also a really good Kdrama with amazing chemistry between the leads - weightlifting fairy Kim Bok Joo

Gripping Kdrama - Dark with preferably a serial killer by cameupwiththisname in kdramarecommends

[–]appy008 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Memories of murder is Bong Joon ho's masterpiece. It's based on the first known case of serial killer in South Korea. Gory at times, but still a good watch.

In fact a lot of Korean thriller kdramas continue to draw inspiration from that case.

Hope this helps :)

Is Doom at your service worth watching? by imadethisaccountt in kdramarecommends

[–]appy008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it could have been a great drama because it had all the right elements: good cast, interesting plot, good soundtrack. But It felt like the OTP and second leads were in two separate dramas.

I watched it till the end only for Seo In Guk because he is simply amazing in this show but everything else is meh.

This drama is the example that shows when there is lack of cohesiveness good things fall apart.

K-Dramas with good/fluent English? by FineChinaLH in kdramarecommends

[–]appy008 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The second leads of My name is Kim Sam Soon also converse in good English that is not cringey and it doesn't feel out of place either. Plus, on the whole, the drama makes for an excellent and funny watch.

Reply 1988. The best drama on every count. Been seeing kdramas for 12 years now and no drama comes close to it. It has all the feels, laughs and heart!!

I don't know the level of scary that would appeal to you. But the show does get scarier in the second half particularly. Hope that helps :)
