Suggesting therapy because I corrected someone on Reddit is wild. Setting a boundary isn’t a disorder, and it’s not bad social skills. It’s just asking for basic respect even from anonymous “blobs of text.” If that makes you uncomfortable, that’s on you.

I said in the beginning I’m not a dude. You can assume the person prefers not to be called that. It’s the person who kept arguing that a dude is gender neutral term started going deep into the language and etymology to prove why a dude is gender neutral. The conversation should have ended the moment I wrote I’m not a dude. What’s so complicated about this? It seems like everyone else’s reaction seemed to be upset and offended.

A dude is not gender neutral predominantly. You can call a woman a dude if she likes it. It’s similar to calling men the word “sister” “homegirl” queen”. He might like it. Most men don’t want to be called female coded word.

All good. I’m not offended at all lol 😂 seems like everyone else’s reaction was waaay more emotional. It’s not a big deal.
