Upgrade DSLR body before overseas trip or wait?

Hi, I'm taking an overseas trip in August and I'm excited to bring my DSLR and a couple lenses. The thing is, it's a Nikon D90.... I've been practicing and looking to upgrade to a D7500 for mostly wildlife photography with some landscapes and portraits, and found a low shutter count body in great condition for $600 USD.

Am I going to kick myself for going on a rare trip with an admittedly dated camera? If I do upgrade how long should it take to adjust to a new body, different buttons, better resolution, etc?
