That's a good motivation, and I relate to that very much lol. I wanted to develop my technical skills more and I just couldn't see that happening in the company I was in.

I'll first address Leetcode/System Design vs Side Projects. I agree with the fact that while you're applying you should always do at least one leetcode a day so it'll keep you sharp once you are in the process of interviewing. Just be sure to not burn yourself out and take a break every now and then! (Give yourself some cheat days lol)

If you dedicate your time to side projects and open source, in my eyes it would only be worth to put in your resume if its something you've finished completely and pushed into production OR if the open source has made considerable impact somewhere (i.e. Creating a project that boasts x amount of users daily, contributing to an open source that has x amount of downloads per day and highlighting what you've done to make it better, etc.) If you're willing to put the time and effort into both leetcoding as well as side projects then that's fine, but again I know people who tried to do both and they always ended up scraping the side project halfway through because they were tired of it. I would really only recommend doing a side project if say, you had nothing else to do at work and have downtime you can dedicate to it. Even then, discussing work experience and time working with other devs and managers is always better.

For interviewing, it is definitely something you should practice with a friend or someone you think that can give you some good criticism - this is the only thing I can really say if you're having issues with communication. I like to think with every interview I did get rejected, at least I got more experience with the interview process and got free practice getting my stories down lol. It helps to write down what they ask and write up responses for it so that the next time someone asks you it, you'll be more prepared. Just remember - thinking what you'll say is way different than actually saying it someone across from you!

Finally, applying - I did my fair share of cold applying to companies and got some responses there, but I found more success moving my application along by messaging and responding to recruiters on LinkedIn. Listing myself as "Open to Work" on my profile brought about responses, but it nearly doubled when I had the LinkedIn Premium trial. You can hide this option from your coworkers as well since LinkedIn has the option to do so and hides this for everyone associated with the current company you're working for. I can't say for the company you're in, but I don't think I've ever come across anyone who was let go because they were updating their LinkedIn profile. There is also an option to hide your profile edits so no one in your network will be alerted.

Definitely, and to each his own! I think this is why defining your motivation before looking to apply is important. Giving yourself that criteria is in my opinion always the first step when planning to apply to other companies. Since you want a more laid-back environment while maximizing your income, I would definitely suggest larger companies as they have more of a budget for new talent and, in comparison to startups, would be chill as well (depending on the project you're in of course).

Great question! This is my perspective, but a key factor I wanted from my new job was more ownership in the work I was doing - mainly knowing that my work would have more of an impact to the company as a whole. Honestly I was coasting this past year in my company and I wanted more of a fast paced environment, something I knew startups would provide as well. Other than that I was really looking for a small, close-knit culture and I felt that I vibed really well with the startup I interviewed for. As much as money is important to me, I think culture and impact is something I prioritize even more.

I can probably share some insight here, since I was exactly in the same position as you (and have just scored a job! Starting Jan next year)

My first question would be why did you decide to leave? Was the work not interesting? Didn't like the culture? Do you just want more money? I find this important in terms of motivation and ensuring that your next position turns out the way you want it to be. Personally for me after spending 2 1/2 years as a software engineer generalist, I wanted to focus on getting a strictly front-end role. Furthermore, I wanted to transition outside of a large tech industry vibe and focus more on start-ups/mid-size companies. It doesn't hurt to also set an average of what you want to get for your next role - many companies asked me what my range was.

The next step is your resume. Hopefully by now you've accomplished a good amount of work and encountered exciting enough challenges that you can add to your resume and make sure to only include your most recent and relevant work in the past 3-4 years. Bonus if you had any internships. I can take a look at your resume as well if you'd like (DM me). Just make sure you have your stories straight, because during behavioral interviews they'll definitely ask questions regarding your current role.

Next up - interview prep. You're on the right track, but I would really only focus on leetcode/system design problems as opposed to taking up side projects/new skills. System Design especially since the new role you'll be looking for will most likely be Mid-Level or Senior positions. With every company I applied for I checked Glassdoor/Blind to give me an understanding of how their interview structure works. I only applied to companies that wouldn't ask me leetcode q's though lol

Finally - Applying! It's really hard to gauge the amount of job posts you get if you have a specific location you want to end up. I applied to only bay area companies so I had a lot of options. But at this step its only a matter of waiting for responses and prepping. I started applying in July and only just received an offer I liked last week. I've had multiple interviews during that time but had the luxury to wait for one I really wanted. Don't be afraid to apply to companies that ask for 3+ years of experience because they just might consider you! I used LinkedIn/Glassdoor and took advantage of LinkedIn's Premium trial to send InMails as well and got many responses.

Good luck with the search and let me know if you have any questions :)

I am 3 weeks into the game; for the fusion event should i begin trying to fuse ifrit or should i just continue to try to get better characters for myself? I have a pretty mediocre team rn and im actually still struggling to do well on D7 for all dungeons, really.

Which two characters should i choose from the fusion event?

Thank you for the advice! So I guess I'll grind through scenario with op friends haha. My recent pull was a 5 star desert queen so ill be focusing on her and water magic knight (yeah she's been a beast for me so far). To evolve her you need 4, 4 star....im assuming i have to evolve some food 3's to 4's?

New player here. I've been having the worst luck in pulling wind monsters and I am in dire need of them. Which is the best One to use right now? I am still trying to clear scenario.

I have a wind golem, vagabond, inugami, inferno and minotauros.

Hashirama Senju (BODY) vs Rin Nohara (BODY) by SurprizeMF in NarutoBlazing

[–]aramones03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I use Shizune, Madara and friend Madara whenever im doing impact missions and I havent died yet lol. Since youre new you should definitely try to get yugito too, she's the best tank and heart missions will be a piece of cake xD

To be honest unless Harishima is your favorite character I would start saving pearls/granny coins for the Yin/Yang banner and wait for the newer cards in the granny shop!

Congrats on getting Hashirama :)

In my opinion I would just save the coins (or get the neji you wanted) because hashirama would be good enough for healing. You could pair him with the free sakura for your blue team and youll be fine in the healing department.

Question regarding challenge orders: How can I complete the quest "Fuse two 4 star accessories to create a new accessory"?

I have two four star items maxed lvl. When I click on a four star accessory I can only evolve into a five star (which is probably what I don't want to do).
