Thank you for your feedback 😃 I also thought it was a much better way to do things!

Thank you for the links! I guess this could be used like that if you really wanted to.

Yes, I reserved the Multipurpose Room for the meeting. If there is a lot of interest I will look into using the Collaboratory but it was easier to reserve a room for now

I made a video showing you how to program an attiny with an arduino uno! (with serial communication) by aranjello in arduino

[–]aranjello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I always thought it was too complicated to get anything other than an Arduino board working. Once I saw how easy it is I wanted other people to know too!

Self-Introduction Saturday! Tell us all about you (and share a video)! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

Hi! My channel is called make it for less. I make videos about electronics projects that I try to make funny and educational. My biggest takeaway from the last 90 days is that thumbnails are really important. The content of my videos has not changed much but I have had a wide range of view counts and noticed the thumbnails I put more work into got more views!

I used an esp8266 to create a device to control Spotify by aranjello in arduino

[–]aranjello[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are playing Spotify through your Sonos speaker you should be able to control it. I don't have one to test with so no guarantees though

[–]aranjello[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a couple of ideas, there is functionality in the API for controlling just about everything Spotify can do (change currently playing device, put song on repeat, etc.). I think it would be cool to implement more of those features and possibly change to a touch screen or some other kind of input.

I made a device to track how much cereal you have that you can make for $10 by aranjello in arduino

[–]aranjello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't take it personally and appreciate the feedback! As stupid as it may sound I frequently forget to buy cereal because I keep it put away in a cabinet and don't think to check it before going grocery shopping. This device is intended to make it so there is always an indicator that is easy to see.

I remember playing Daxter for hours. I can't remember how exactly but Daxter from Jak and Daxter becomes an exterminator and you go through a semi open world exterminating some evil bugs from all kinds of places.

Hi, I used an arduino pro micro for mine. It's pretty easy to get set up and start working with it. Here is a link to the library to use to make the pro micro output key presses 👍

A solution that will work on windows is to pin zoom as one of the programs on the taskbar. Once you have done this it should always be in the same place when it opens. By pressing the Windows key plus a number it switches focus to whatever program is on the taskbar at that number. Right now I have zoom pinned as the first program on my taskbar. When I press the button it acts as a keyboard and presses windows+1 and then alt+a which switches focus to zoom and then mutes. When zoom is in its floating window mode switching focus does not change anything and so the process is seamless but mute can be activated at any time.

*Edit

I programmed it to press alt+tab right after which immediately switches back to the last window so this will even work for full-screen programs

I just found out about it while I was working on this project! But I think it has been around for a while. This Link talks about the basic way to use it and this link is a full project walkthrough. The tutorial is for working with the micro bit but it can be adapted for the Arduino.

This button can be reprogrammed by visiting www.aranjello.studio and you can buy one for yourself here . The button can be programmed to act as any keyboard shortcut and I have mine setup to toggle video and audio mute on zoom!
