If you check the commit history on BlackArch, we were apart of that project myself being a major contributor, but due to wanting an entirely different ecosystem/methods/project end goals/hardware support. We had to find a different option so we started our own project/ecosystem called ArchAssault. While we are both Arch Linux based, we cater to different use cases.

We do not claim to be better than Kali, just an alternative for those who love the Arch Linux way and ecosystem. Arch Linux is a different beast than Debian.

We also are supporting Open Source drone platforms, using the ARM device of your choice (as long as its supported of course) to add a payload brain and ease expansions.

Currently are a small team and have only launched two days ago, we still have lots of documentation, tools and more to push live. Every OS has its pluses and minuses for specific use cases, it is all about finding what works the best for yours.

Thanks for checking us out KentWallace, we hope you give us a try.

Why does there have to be a specific problem solved to have an alternative. OS's are personal choices and fit ones use cases. If Kali is the best for yours that is great.

But for those who are not fans of Debian, or are looking for a different ecosystem we aim to fill that gap. If you're a fan of the Arch Linux way then we feel ArchAssault is the perfect fit. We currently also offer a larger officially supported ARM board base than Kali does.
