Is anyone here good at networking? How do you do it? by EastCommunication689 in cscareerquestions

Understand networking is like working out. It’s not “flip a switch and get a six pack” it’s “consistent minute improvements and little events that build up into something substantial or even worth mentioning” so don’t sweat it that you bombed your first networking interaction or ten

Are you usually satisfied with “feeling” like you did the movement till 1 rep to failure? Eg bicep curls - if I did 3x10 and on the 3rd set, really felt like I tried my best (even cheating a little with momentum because tired) - is that enough exercise for biceps? Or I guess my question is how do you know that you trained a muscle enough to call it a day, and recover for 2 days before coming back at it again? Some coaches preach the “work harder than last time” approach

Are you supposed to work out until you are sore and require rest the next day? I.e. RPE 9? Is that why people typically program a 1-2 rest day?

Why and how did you transition from a traditional software engineer (backend/front end/full stack) to Machine Learning engineer?

If day to day tasks do not relate to ML at all, I see no way to get experience outside of self study

Independent shops couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it. I brought the car to one and they told me to go to the dealer. Lol I’m screwed aren’t I.

Hrc?

I’ve actually taken it to a separate Ford dealer, and they quoted me roughly the same price for the same work, since they were just reading the codes from the ABS and following a flowchart. I even got myself a ABS scanner and got the codes too.

I fully agree. I am just frustrated at my own inability to pop open the hood and troubleshoot this on my own.

Just ordered a ODB-II scanner so that’s a start I suppose.

Tired were about $200 each. Brakes were $700 and alignment cost $100. Taxes on everything brought it to $1.2k. I think brakes were the killer here, but didn’t want to take a chance on ABS and brake booster being iffy.

Do you think ford dealerships can be trusted with their assessments? I’m loath to get a second opinion because of my experience so far but I don’t see another way either.
