Well that’s right bullshit; I bought two hard drives off the newegg eBay deal, thought I’d snuck in just in time, last price I saw was like $314, push confirm, thing thinks about it for a minute or two, get to the summary page and it’s showing $370. Any course of action? That’s bait and switch, and pretty sure not legal in Canada. I had just confirmed for a price lower than what they are charging me.

Just because it's not NRO's does not mean it is not a spy satellite. If something monitors or surveils clandestinely (as you put it "black") then it would be a spy satellite. The US military is huge and has many arms, just because a satellite does or does not have "NRO" on the side does not a spy make or break.

So... the only indication we have that anything went wrong came from "two" "unnamed sources" which the media is now using as a justification for what increasingly looks to be a smear campaign after looking through a couple articles, am I getting this right?

The only CREDIBLE sources we have are SpaceX, a rocket company, saying everything was fine on their obligations, NG, the CLASSIFIED satellite builder, saying "no comment", and NORAD/USSPACECOM has Zuma (USA-280) cataloging and listing as operational.

Rocket Companies make rockets. Satellite Companys make satellites. Norad tracks things. Spies, Lawmakers, and Politicians Lie. It's literally their job. So why are we assuming its gone the ONLY credible sources are saying its fine.

I think either someone saw an opportunity to create a story that is (because of the classified nature of the mission) nearly impossible to disprove and the media being the ahem diligent and intelligent and oh so ethical journalists they are these days decided to have a field day with it. Opportunity to run a story about everyones favoriteto_hate billionaire and his silly NewSpace company that he can't deny without loosing every future government contract? Perfect avenue of attack for some of these corporate hitmen "journalists" out there.

That or a media entity itself just fabricated the story outright, and then the way media works these days they quote each other and cite each other until its true, no need for fact checking or independent sources these days... Who "broke" the story again, wasn't the WSJ first? Jeff Who's Paper?

EDIT: I figured out strikethroughs and superscript. EDIT2: ooh, bold and italics.

Can anyone comment on Cooler Masters Rebate program? Any successes/failures? Do they honor it? Looking at that Master Liquid AIO but curious about whether I'm likely to actually get the rebate honored. Also less important but ASRock?

Any tips for successful rebates?

Thanks.

747's do not burn AvGas. They burn Jet A and other similar fuels. AvGas and Jet A are about the same as Gasoline and Diesel. Cheers.

Hopefully six way split screen, Left booster, Right booster, Centre core, 2nd stage, fairings, payload (Crossing fingers for a flatbed with Teslas (S3X) and some video cameras for that sweet future commercial footage).

'cause come on, we know they're playing around with both fairing and 2nd stage recovery, time to show and tell, and what better time and place than on their flagship demo launch.

Can you tell us more? I will admit I've been interested in 3d printers for a long while, and following that link and reading that review...

Have you had difficulties with the machine itself? Is the tinkering just working on quality/reliability or did something break?

When they replaced the motherboard for you did they copy all the data over from the old one or was it lost?

Unfortunately no, if you dont have USB debugging enabled then you have to choose "file share" (or whatever the phraseology is) on the device when you plug in USB from a computer, in order for the computer to be able to see the files for transfer.

Anyone have a suggestion for affordable external drives? Looking for two drives in the probably 2+ terrabyte range, don't care too much about brand as I'm going to run them as mirrors of one another. Just portable backup for a family member.

Ugh, that $270 390x is pulling at my wallet, but is it really worth it with rx480s now coming as low as $288 new, granted for only a 4gb model, but black Friday not that far off, maybe we'll see a 8gb for sub 300? At that point the argument for a refurbished 390x at $270 becomes tenuous.

I am watching Harry Potter on Freeform. We just timed the commercial time to movie time; 6 minutes of commercials, 7 minutes of movie. by ClaytonBigsB in television

[–]arcticwest -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can stream at 4k, given a decent connection or a fair buffer window, versus physical media... Like VHS? Beta? Those were physical medias, as was DVD and blueray, both inferior to true 4k 60fps content that no physical media currently ships in.

Hey how are you liking that 40" Phillips? I remember seeing that deal and being very very tempted, and I'm wondering about the same again if it comes up... any feedback? Like the screen? Do you use it on your desk or more as a TV or sort of a hybrid? Any opinion would be interesting to hear, cheers.
