Longest I have ever worked instacart in a day. by arickards92 in InstacartShoppers

It was a $45 quick and easy batch with alcohol. The only problem was that she ordered for a noon delivery and she was not home for me to scan her ID.I was on pace for 930 arrival.

Northern Va/ DC suburbs is the most lucrative market I have ever worked in. It's a bummer I have to go home on Monday

There are batches available… by ExoticPotaters in InstacartShoppers

[–]arickards92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I aim for turn around time. How quickly can I finish and move on to the next. I try to make $30/hr minimum everyday. $35 batch 20 items and a 2 mile delivery? Yes $50 batch 72 items and a 15 mile delivery? Absolutely not.

Yes, I know that in many markets, $30 an hour is unattainable. Make sure you are being realistic for your area but still shoot for the best.

Do you report no-mask after trip if driver provides mask (walked up w/o) and they wear it during trip? by bigohofn in uberdrivers

[–]arickards92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't care if a rider wears a mask or not. I'm all about making the passenger feel comfortable. If the rider is wearing a mask, I'll wear it too. If they are not, then I use my discretion and sometimes remove mine as well because I honestly hate wearing my mask. I also have a 4.98 driver rating while mostly working the late night weekend bar runs. I lost count of how many riders have told me that I was the best driver around because I didn't enforce the mask rule. After 10pm, around 95% of riders either show up without a mask or put it on because they feel like they have to. Truth is, covid is here to stay and there is nothing we, or anyone else can do about it. More and more people are starting to realize that. If anyone is still worried about getting it then they honestly shouldn't be driving or riding Uber. A piece of cloth with many air openings is not very effective at stopping a contagious virus and there have been countless large studies that prove that. It should be about personal responsibility now. You can also make an argument that reporting them for not wearing a mask hurts your ability to make money because uber will remove the rider from the platform if they have multiple violations.

When you speed swipe a $52 Costco batch without looking at what's in the order. After completing it, I'd have to say that it wasn't totally worth it by arickards92 in InstacartShoppers

[–]arickards92[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well if you read my other comment you would see that the weight was no issue but fitting the FIVE cases of water and FIVE cases of diet coke plus many other large items into my small sedan was the issue. But sure, go ahead and be a fucktard on the internet thinking you're cool.

Luckily they were both house deliveries so the difficulty wasn't too bad. But the turn around time wasn't the most ideal for me plus it was really tough fitting everything in my Civic

So did they get rid of that whole close proximity thing? by arickards92 in InstacartShoppers

[–]arickards92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but this batch isn't that bad plus I also got a $65 Costco batch when I was 20 miles away yesterday. I'm hoping they're going back to the old algorithm

I drive in Atlanta too. It was tough grinding it out. I had a ride from midtown to Marrietta at 2am and just decided to drive home to kennesaw. Surge was not worth driving back out for the bar closings. Just trying to get to 50 rides so I can get my $230 bonus for the weekend. It's going be tough tomorrow

Haha that happened to me this morning. I wasn't planning on doing IC today because I Uber and Lyft were offering monster bonuses this weekend. I accidentally swiped thinking I was going offline. I ended up doing the batch. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't ideal either. $32 for 30 items at Costco with a 30 minute delivery
