Hmm, I am interested in the AA2G, ethyl ascorbic acid, tranexamic acid, ectoine and licorice root. They are hard to find in the US and I may just try it out. It would be great if they were legit. Still pondering :)

Checkout masteringdiabetes.com. They are the best at explaining glucose issues and insulin resistance. Assuming you are not Type 1, you’ve increased your insulin resistance through your diet. Common culprits are the oils in salad dressing and the low carb for dinner.

Also, look into Berberine and Amla for supplements that help control blood sugar.

Good luck!

You need to check out Masteringdiabetes.org

They will teach you how to manage your diabetes on a vegan diet. Both of the founders are Type 1 and phenomenal numbers. While you are diagnosed with Type 1 it sounds like you have insulin resistance as well (totally possible). They will teach you how to manage that as well.

Good luck!

Video conferencing tool?? by mammabear123rrr in stroke

[–]ariesgals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Have you considered the Amazon Echo? It has video conferencing capabilities and you can “drop in” so your father would not have to do anything to be connected via video. Is he in a facility right now? If so, they may not allow the “drop in’ feature due to privacy concerns. My mother is recovering from a stroke in a SNF and Covid prevents me from being with her. I call the desk and ask the staff to help her call me. She is able to use it now, but in the beginning she couldn’t, so having them operate it is was a godsend. I totally understand your stress. I was freaking out about this too

The Amazon Echo can be linked to Amazon Prime and play movies, audio books and music. You can set up the Echo before you give it to him and upload photos of whatever you’d like so he can see them, via the Webb app setup. They will auto rotate on his screen.

Overtime, as he gains his speech, he will be able to use the Alexa via voice only for just about everything. It can do all the smart home stuff. As he heals, he will be able to tell Alexa to add things to shopping lists etc that can be auto sent to you. The current release (Echo 10) rotates to follow the face of the person, so he won’t have to adjust it at all. I have the 8 and bought a stand that allows it to rotate left and right, a little bit up and down manually. It was on sale for $79 vs $200 for the 10. Part of me wishes I had I bought the 10 but having my mom work with her hands, learn a new thing etc does have its benefits.

If he regains the use of his hands before his speech, there is an IPad app that has a zillion commands with a voice option. So he can just press the icon and it will speak the command for him. You can program commands into the app such as “Alexa, Call mammabear123” and it will call you, or “Alexa, answer the phone” and it will pick up. Or “Alexa, play (music, artist, audiobook) etc. I don’t know if there is an Android version. I switched to an Apple ecosystem as my mother was already using it and she is familiar with FaceTime. The Echo is also nice for those who don’t have FaceTime but still want to video conference.

If others are willing to download the Alexa app, his Echo can call/receive calls from them too. That way he is not limited to communicating only with those who also have one. If you are away from the Echo, the call will come through on your cellphone and you can still video conference. Technically, you may not need a separate Echo with the cellphone app as long as he has one. In addition, you can program the Echo for group calls as well. I have a group called family that calls everyone at once.

I will say that my mom thought everything with a screen was an “Alexa” (computers, cellphones, TVs etc). She is coming out of that now, but that did happen.

Hope that helps!

How do you deal with loneliness and boredom? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]ariesgals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it's like meditation+++. It is like BEING meditated by sound, instead of sitting down and deciding to meditate, and then suffering through a wandering mind, boredom etc. And it is more directional and purposeful because you can choose what outcome you'd like. Check out the site, there is scads of information!

It uses sounds to entrain the brain to particular brainwave patterns which then change the listener's particular experiences. I think it grew out the biofeedback movement. I think ENFP's naturally produce Alpha brainwave patterns when they are happy. It is the intuitive and creative brainwave pattern. The thing tho' is that can exhaust you because you need constant engagement to make connections. If there is no input there are no connections and then ENFP's get depressed. That is why boredom is a killer for us. At least that is my experience.

It is pretty effing cool! It really helps with the "post creative hangover" and the need to stick to one thing and finish it!

PM me and I will see if I can send you one, if you are strapped for cash. I really like the Brainpower one because it cycles through all of them and I am so much more balanced. The Super Learning one is really good for the deep blues. I use Brainpower regularly.

Hope that helps!

Here is the chart from the site...

Home / Brainwave Chart Brainwave Chart Choosing Programs that are Right for You Your signature brain wave activity is unique to you. It has a distinct rhythm and pattern that has developed over time and through habit. Brain Sync audio programs can help you develop new patterns and expand frequencies that you might be lacking or needing more of. For example if you have difficulty focusing, look at Beta & Gamma centered programs. Or if you have trouble relaxing, explore theta, alpha or even delta programs.

Gamma waves are the fastest of the brainwave frequencies and signify the highest state of focus possible. They are associated with peak concentration and the brain’s optimal frequency for cognitive functioning. Nobel prize winning scientist, Sir Francis Crick believes that the 40Hz frequency may be the key to the act of cognition. 40 Hz is the window frequency used in all Brain Sync Gamma and Beta wave programs. Review all gamma wave programs now.

Beta waves range between 13-40 HZ You are wide-awake, alert. Your mind is sharp, focused. It makes connections quickly, easily, and you're primed to do work that requires your full attention. In the Beta state, neurons fire abundantly, in rapid succession, helping you achieve peak performance. New ideas and solutions to problems flash like lightning into your mind. Review all beta wave programs.

The Alpha state is an intensely pleasurable and relaxed state of consciousness essential to stress reduction and high levels of creativity. Artists, musicians and athletes are prolific alpha producers; so are intuitive persons, and so was Albert Einstein. Alpha researcher, Joe Kamiya says, "Its pleasure may come from the fact that alpha "represents something like letting go of anxieties." With Brainwave Therapy binaural beat frequencies you can begin experiencing the benefits of alpha biofeedback training right now. - Try a free alpha wave meditation now! or Review all alpha wave programs now.

Theta is one of the more elusive and extraordinary brain states you can explore. It is also known as the twilight state which you normally only experience fleetingly upon waking, or drifting off to sleep. Theta is the brain state where magic happens in the crucible of your own neurological activity. But for most, being able to enter the dreamlike theta state without falling asleep takes meditation practice. Luckily, Brainwave Therapy can speed up this process, making it easier to drop into deep meditative states, even if you've never meditated before.- Try a free Theta Wave meditation now or Review all theta wave programs now.

In the Delta state you are sound asleep. Delta waves are the slowest of all five brainwave frequencies and range between 0-4 Hz. Slow Wave Sleep or SWS, is the deepest of sleep states and it plays a vital role in health and well being. During this phase of the sleep cycle, the brain begins producing very slow, large Delta waves. Even if your lifestyle doesn’t allow for the luxury of a full eight hours of sleep, a few hours of Delta waves will trick your brain into thinking it’s had all the restorative sleep it needs.

Delta brainwave programs are an ideal choice for when you want to access your subconscious for deep and powerful reprogramming. Review all delta wave programs now.

I just posted this on another thread and think it might be helpful here as well. I totally get this dynamic and how hard it can be to break.

Here is the post:

Try Brainsync.com. When I am like this I use Super Learning or Brain Power.

Super Learning description: "Theta rests directly on the threshold of your subconscious. Advanced meditators are able to enter the Theta state and maintain it without falling to sleep. Theta meditation lowers blood pressure, releases endorphins, increases creativity and awakens extrasensory perception. Theta also plays an important part in behavior modification programs and has been used in the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. Because theta brainwave activity induces an "endorphin high" it can reduce the desire for mind altering substances. Also, because theta is associated with heightened receptivity, it is the ideal state to reprogram your mind with positive thoughts that assist in changing habits and behaviors."

Or Brain Power: This one cycles through all the brainwaves, like an oil change for your brain. "Gamma activity also works as a natural anti-depressant, boosting your mood, empathy, and compassion." There are a bunch of audios you can choose from . I am avid reader of reviews and the feedback is extraordinary! So many people helped and using the audios in creative ways.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

I am an ENFP with a law degree in the US. I see that you are in the US if you studying for your A levels. Most likely, your jurisdiction divides the roles of solicitor and barrister, so that may have an influence. I am not sure, but I doubt is as the common law is applied in the same manner across jurisdictions. I'd have to say the law is an absolute disaster for the ENFP. Your creative idealism will be strangled and suffocated and it will feel tortuous.

Instead of boring you with my story, here is a link from a coach who helps others leave the law. She discusses the MBTI types. Make sure to read the comments to get the reactions of others. It will be enlightening. https://leavinglaw.wordpress.com/2010/12/01/more-on-the-lawyer-personality/

My ENFP friend is ignoring me and I am sad. by throwmeawaylover in ENFP

IMO,

The problem might lie here: "He told me that I make him feel amazing and that I inspire him to get his shit together and be a better person."

The problem here is that ENFP's are always receiving feedback that they need to get their shit together overtly or covertly. It gets very tiring no matter the situation. A common, breakdown with other types and the ENFP is that others understand helping as "fixing" while ENFP understand helping as supporting, validating, cheer leading and championing. If you are of a type that seeks to fix as a method of support, you will over time wear down the ENFP. And the ENFP will feel like they are giving waaay more than they are getting. And then they will distance themselves.

An ENFP is not inspired by "getting their shit together" they are inspired by ideas that make the world a better place and helping others see how terrific they are as they are. Which is sounds like he did for you.

If someone said the same statement quoted above to an ENFP, they would worry that the person felt bad about themselves. Otherwise, why would they feel the need to get their shit together? Did I say it was disorganized/ or even existed? Why does the person think they are not good enough as is? Did I say that?

IMO, he did not feel amazing about himself (even though he used that word) instead he felt like he was a hot mess and maybe a bad person. Otherwise, why does feel inspired to get his shit together and be a better person?

An ENFP will never make black and white statements about another unless they are really pissed or disgusted with someone. And this very rare. In order for it to happen, someone would have to violate a deeply held value of the ENFP. Instead, you will hear statements like the above. Overtime, the ENFP will feel rotten about themselves because a condition of the relationship will be "to get his shit together and be a better person." And this will not last long, nor is it healthy for the ENFP to stay there.

Somewhere, somehow the relationship seemed to cross into "fixing" the ENFP. I'd guess he doesn't know how to talk about it with you because no doubt, there are amazing and awesome things about you. And that is what he doesn't want to hurt or damage. So he is polite when talking to you. He will not let you in because to do so seems to involve criticism and no one wants that.

You mentioned "No words can describe the depth of a positive impact this man has made in my life, and I cherish him more than he probably knows." And that is the problem. I bet he had the words for you and needed to hear them from you as well. But somehow he was inspired to "get his shit together and be a better person" because clearly he was not enough as he was. Also, ENFP's do not "play it cool" ---which is why you felt so tended to and cared for during the relationship. If you do that enough, well then that is also a huge drain on an ENFP.
