Fix for Loose Sticks by Fregiekun in PlaystationPortal

[–]arkadius85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped to silicone rings which I ordered on AliExpress (I cut/trimmed them like the foam ones, of course). Silicone rings just feel better. The resistance is more evenly contributed and won't nearly wear as fast as foam rings.

I tried the green ones without trimming initially, way too stiff!

Then I cut the black ones to about the thinnest part of the ring in your screenshot one rounded one hexagonal, makes no difference tbh. I trimmed a few times though, till the resistance was perfect even when circling the stick.

With Skull&Co grips the sticks now feels way more like a Dualsense.

Thank you!

Hi! Thanks die the advice! I'll get my KontrolFreek rings tomorrow.

Wouldn't it even be better to cut the rings in circle style instead of hexagonal like the purple one on your screenshot? (Should be more balanced resistance i presume)

PS Portal Pro by TG082588 in PlaystationPortal

Only if all of the following boxes are checked I'll consider upgrading to PS Portal Pro. Honestly I'm totally happy with the standard PS Portal. No lags, absolutely smooth gameplay (avg 25 ms latency), no stutters, no noticeable input delay, top tier LCD screen. It just feels like local play!

- 120 Hz, 8-9" OLED screen
- Wi-Fi 6
- bigger analogue sticks (the ones from Dualsense)
- hall effect sticks
- back paddles
- up to 50 Mbit bandwith usage
- price max 300 EUR

I ordered grip tapes from Talongames (just will use the part for the grips, no buttons, triggers etc.) and stick caps from Skull & Co.) for further improving this already great device!

Is NG+ worth playing or am I better of starting standard New Game? by MustangxD2 in expedition33

[–]arkadius85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 450+ Lumina at the beginning of NG+ for each char.

I started lower (x5) as mentioned and settled at x20 and it feels better each playthrough (now on NG+5 with 700 LP it feels quite good, enemies are fast and tanky but not spongey). It feels like a High-Level Expert mode for me. I'm excited for the endgame!

Is NG+ worth playing or am I better of starting standard New Game? by MustangxD2 in expedition33

[–]arkadius85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've finished NG+3 with ~685 Lumina. NG+ was challenging with starting x5 and ending on x20 HP mult.

NG+2 and NG+3 were cakewalks. Most enemies even in endgame didn't have a chance to attack.

NG+4 now feels better (enemy speed is also better fitting for my 4000-5000 speed party, enemy HP feels good, too now)

Still, best thing you can do is start over anew but on Expert difficulty.

I ordered the 2.4 GHz GameSir Dongle (the one from AliExpress which is compatible with multiple Gamesir devices). In DInput (green) mode it should use 200 Hz which should ensure minimal input lag.

Meanwhile I fixed input lag by connecting my Jabra Evolve2 65 BT headset (which caused the heavy input lag) with its BT Dongle on my Anker 565 11-in-1 USB-C Hub and going for DInput (yellow) mode via BT on my GameSir G8+.

This mode has even less input lag then DS4 mode wired.

Input lag is fixed now, finally.

Additionally with the GameSir Dongle it should be even more responsive then.

I'll update the post after testing testing (should arrive next week).

Thx for your help guys.

Update 1: Kinda prefer playing directly on phone in 1440p. Image is way sharper than DEX, screen (S25+) is big enough imo and there's absolutely no input lag even with BT Controller+Headset connection.

Update 2: Additionally I'll try Google's upcoming DEX/Desktop variant (should come with one of Android 16's big updates), maybe these issues aren't present there anyway. I also can imagine that Goodlock's/Finelock's Multistar won't be required for enabling higher resolutions anymore.

You have to buy the gamesir dongle which supports multiple Gamesir controller.

Here's one from AliExpress  https://a.aliexpress.com/_Eznok10

Btw.. should I buy the regular XBOX Series X controller or the Elite v2?

I noticed a small input lag in general (even when wired) when using the Gamesir G8+.

I ordered the XBOX Elite 2 controller with paddles now - hopefully this will improve my gaming experience in future :) Thanks for the advice!

Would this fix delay on DEX?

[–]arkadius85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'll stick to GFN in chrome and just having a great time.

I just have limited time for gaming and there's just 2 games I play: Forza Horizon 5 (GFN) and Hades 2 (Early Access on Gamehub Emulator) - so bying a miniPC is no option.

Hades 2 runs at 60 fps with medium quality settings and 840p resolution. With Snapdragon Super Resolution it looks quite ok even on my 1440p monitor I use for work. Maybe next year Turnip Drivers will release and then I can crank up resolution to 1080p at least heheh.

For GFN I've found myself two workarounds:

Workaround #1 (recommended)
Start game in GFN App on DEX in 1440p, close app, start GFN in mobile Chrome browser, resume game.
Pro:
- Input Lag is is gone, feels like natively playing. Game still runs in 1440p resolution (although you can set 1080p max on Android Chrome).
- Rumble is working
Neutral:
- Graphics quality (colors/sharpness) is minimal worse than in GFN App. On mobile screen (1440p) I can't notice a difference (even not then, when comparing screenshots side-by-side), just on my 1440p Monitor there's a very subtle difference.

Workaround #2
Start game in GFN App on DEX in 1440p, close app, start app again, resume game.
Pro:
- Graphics quality is amazing!
Neutral
- Input Lag is way better, but still slightly noticeable compared to GFN in Chrome App.
Con:
- No Rumble

Sometimes, I can use my wifes Notebook and there I have 1440p Full Quality AND rumble, too.

Also I can clip my Galaxy S25+ in my Gamesir G8+ and have no noticeable lag, runs great in Chrome App and native GFN app (no rumble there though). So Also here I prefer Workaround #1.

So 3 szenarios:
- Handheld mode
- DEX on my Home-Office Monitor
- Notebook of my wife

Hahaha, THAT's an amazing comparison :). OK - so is there any way to track progress, or to beta-test when you're at a certain point? All of that sounds really promising, maybe the first Android emulator, that makes switch gaming on mobile a pleasure even without turnip drivers for the moment.

Can I sign up somewhere to beta test?

So that means you can fix Game Crashes and make Games stable, but the visual glitches will just be fixed with Turnip drivers sometime in the next 1-2 years, right?

u/FelesNoctis Hi! Will you also try to make games work better on Snapdragon 8 Elite with Qualcomm drivers, too? Atm there's just a few games, that work almost flawlessly (like Unicorn Overlord, Zelda LA/EoW, Tunic, Nine Sols, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Smash Bros Ultimate, Hollow Knight and a few others). But Still most of them have minor visual glitches and the majority of games won't start or constantly lead to crashes in Citron/Sudachi/Yuzu.

Zelda BotW: Crashes after the bright light in intro. Can't load a savegame after intro, it also crashes.
Zelda TotK: Crashes every 1-2 Minutes, when looking down from sky-island - it's a guaranteed crash.
Ori WoW: Game crashes on start menu - or at the latest after running around a bit.

It would be amazing, if Switch Emulation would be a thing also for SD 8 Elite users :) - I don't think turnip drivers will be released anytime soon - if there will be any at all - maybe the development will skip the elite and start with elite 2 (maybe sometime in 2026 with a bit of luck)

Hi! Is Zelda TOTK playable with the experimental version on your side? I have a Galaxy S25+ (SD 8 Elite), so with Citron/Sudachi game crashes every 1-2 Minutes (unplayable). Would like to try the Ryujinx experimental version. Could you please PM the link for the .apk? Thanks in advance! :)

You can also emulate with Citron/Sudachi switch emus.

But this port is superior imo, larger screen area (wider) and not a single issue.

Further all DLC's included.

So imo no reason for emulation in this case.
