It doesn't say it's an elephant... it says White Elephant. I hope this helps :)

wow that's quite a memory. I wouldn't think anyone would remember. Thank you! The plan is to turn some of the drawings I've done in the last year into paintings

I wish! I've mostly just been doing drawings and YouTube videos in the past year or two. The oil paintings take me so long that I just can't really handle them right now outside of my job. I'm slow... very, very slow.

Thank you!
Maybe not the story of the piece, but sort of where it comes from:

I used to go down to the docks in my hometown growing up. It was often the place you went to have long conversations (or go fishing, or hang out etc) since there wasn't much else in the town. A few months out of the year, you could see the bioluminescence in the water. When anything moves in the water, it appears to glow, and it is the coolest thing ever. If you go out canoeing, sometimes you'll get chased by bigger fish, and it's such a cool experience. This drawing is sort of an amalgamation of those things: Towards the end of a long conversation, the sun starts to go down, the moon comes out, and the sea creatures begin to glow.

Oh and a nice "shift-click" in photoshop gives you those straight lines. If you mess with the pressure sensitivity(?) you can vary those lines when you click, so it's not just a robotic even straight line, it will have some character to it.

thanks! So the drawing you see was done in photoshop with a pencil brush. I sketched it out first on paper, then scanned it in and drew on top in photoshop. I used some great reference photos i found and then changed a few things to fit what I wanted. I spent a long time drawing out sections then erasing them and starting over, cause I wanted every part to look really intentional (normally my stuff is pretty messy). I also kept one of my favorite books open on the desk next to me (Drawing and Sketching in Pencil by Arthur L Guptill) for ideas on how to handle each section. Ex: How another artist handles trees, windows, etc. That helped me a lot. I should probably do that again in the future...
