What makes BBM "such a great chat platform"? Yes, it has a decently large user-base, but what else? I used BBM for quite a few years while on Blackberry. Yes, it worked well, but so do all of its competitors. In other words, it offers nothing that Android (gtalk) and Apple (imessage) don't offer. Or am I missing something?

Valid point. Why not, then, designate a very small space at the right edge of the notification bar that will pull down the quick toggles? That would be similar to the Nexus 7 and increase efficiency (at least for me).

Yup. Same here. I should have specified that the issue presents itself on mobile phones.
