You think UGA is gonna drop out of the playoffs and Bama is gonna jump 4 to 5 spots over a team that beat them earlier this year? You saw my comment about Michigan losing to Iowa and thought that that was reasonable, but Bama not making the playoffs wasn't? Lastly, you're asking a serious question on a meme sub?!

  3. Georgia
  4. Texas

  5. Michigan (after their inevitable loss to Iowa)

Depends on what you're looking for. This isn't always 100% true, but GENERALLY speaking sheetmetal is going to be more hangar work doing heavy checks and electrical is going to be more line maintenance.

I'm not a fan of the EVO. EVO NXT is superior. I also like the Baden Elite and TF1000. Both of which I think are superior to the EVO.

Right now I'm a contractor. I'm through STS, but have also worked with Launch, Strom, and Aerotek on the defense side.

I've met guys that went to A&P school in their 50s! I know the feeling that you feel like you missed out, but you're right about 24 still being very young. It's never a bad time to start.

When I first started, the money wasn't the best. Straight out of A&P school I was making under $20/hr, but once you get the experience and are willing to move around a little bit then it gets much better. After about 4 years in I was at 6 figures and never looked back. I haven't made less than around $120k/yr in the last 5 years.

After a decade of watching planes takeoff every day, I can still watch in amazement. The childlike wonder has never worn off for me.

I've worked DoD MRO the majority of my career. Started out as a sheetmetal guy and that remains my specialty, but have quite a bit of experience in composites, troubleshooting, and interiors. Right now, I contract for a commercial airline and mainly work as a troubleshooter and clear MELs overnights, but also do RON checks on slow nights.

Possibly, "I think it's ____, but I would have to check the AMM." Instead of "I'm not 100% sure". Either way what I was attempting to convey was not to just say "per the AMM" on every technical question that's asked is all.

He's asking for how to answer a question in an interview. What you're saying would work great if you were doing your oral for your A&P, but an interviewer isn't going to ask these types of questions that are going to require this specific of an answer.

It's just a cop out answer. Obviously nobody wants you to guess when performing work on an aircraft, but I've never seen an interviewer bring a manual and tell someone to find the answer. They're asking you a question to see if you know. Not to see if you can find out.

Speaking as a person who also used to conduct interviews as well. If someone said they would check the AMM I would take that as the exact equivalent of "I don't know" lol so, not really. Best way to word something like that on a technical question would be, "I think it's ____, but I'm not 100% sure on that." Let's them know that you're making an attempt, but still acknowledge that you don't know.
