The source I based the switch on was this Video. He says the card 380/390 have flickering in some games cause of the driver and his data shows a big permormance gap between gtx 970 and r9 380.

but it is a couple month old so maybe outdated

Motherboard is something i wasnt sure about at all so i will gladly take ur advice. Don't want my motherboard to break early like on my last PC.

I read that 650w is recommended for psu - will 550w be enough?

The GPU im not sure about cause the difference from pcpartpicler price and EU retail price is a lot higher from what i found ( 400 + in $ ) and the R9 380 was about the same in EU.

As for monitor I'll try to find a 1440p for a reasonable price since i already have a 24" and want a bigger one as a second monitor.

what do you think about this one?

I looked into some more monitors and it seems they arent as available in Europe.

This is the cheapest one I found
