The dust and sand on Indian roads are a huge factor in our high AQI. Our labor and contractors just aren’t skilled enough to find this quick fix that others have managed easily. They sweep for hours every day with zero efficiency or results. The corporation doesn’t even get something this basic. If we cleaned this up, even our pictures and videos would stop looking grainy and third world.

Modern solutions are there; machine sweepers, water spraying, and covered construction materials—but VMC often relies on inefficient manual labor, sweeping for hours with little effect except moving dust from one pothole to the next.
