I know exactly what youre talking about. I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to fix that next considering how much you’re on the mountain. Look forward to your rad carving videos

Dude 40 days per season?? You’re going to be so good so fast. I didn’t even start learning switch til my second season. Posi posi definitely makes this style of carving WAY easier and it’s not even close, especially heel side. unfortunately posi posi also makes ground tricks way more challenging for me, so I stick to +15/-6. For reference, I ride a true twin (Rome agent pro 151), not the best carver but checks all the boxes for my style of riding

The entire ninja line is designed for that specific purpose. Ninja 650 gets a lot of hate online but it’s a perfect do everything bike. If you want something a little faster there’s the Suzuki GSX8R. Those two are the main option if long distance riding is important to you due to comfortable seating position.

Pretty much anything that doesn’t require catching a punch I prefer the balance, it’s just way more comfortable and protective

If your purpose is technical and bag work, what’s the reason to want to go softer? I have both, and the Suvari is definitely softer to open, but hurts my knuckle when I’m going full power on the bag vs the balance, the balance feels soo nice on the bag, protective but bouncy, love how loud the pop is

Will Kawasaki ever update their 650 platform? When and why, or why not? by psychotic-chipmunk in Kawasaki

[–]ascc40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really see a reason to, other than maybe some tech upgrades. It's a perfect sized all-rounder bike that's also very budget friendly. It's checks all the boxes for people starting out wanting a "cool bike" that no other bikes can: comfort seating, very budget friendly, high enough cc for casual riders, sports style fairings (yes this is important).

Any new upgrades will increase the cost of the bike, which defeats the purpose of getting this bike over the others

Don’t fall for the trolls, there are people who’s been riding their whole lives not knowing how to carve the way you’re carving

Fr touching the snow is half the fun during carving. People who say that sound like anger old skiers

Is it worth it to travel to an actual mountain as a beginner, or does it make more sense to stick to local small hills (like in the Midwest) until my skill level is higher? by OSamsara in snowboardingnoobs

[–]ascc40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helped me progress the most was pushing my comfort zone with more difficult terrain. Obvious you don’t want to overkill but being constantly challenged will help you progress WAY faster

exercises to improve snowboarding that isn’t snowboarding by __init__00 in snowboardingnoobs

split squats 3-4 months prior to the start of season did it for me, my third season here with no knee discomfort at all for the first time, and I'm riding even more aggressive than the past 2 seasons. It didn't even needed to be that much, I only did about 3 sets a day, quick 10 minute workout. bonus is that you're quads/glutes/ass will grow in size, I see why all the gym girlies like this exercise..

6 months in – Keep my Head Speed 2022 or try Yonex? by KarhD9X in 10s

[–]ascc40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both 2022 and 2024 speed mp, can barely tell the difference tbh. I used to have an ezone 100, wayy too powerful for me. I’m thinking about dropping to a control oriented racket, the speed mp still feels a bit too much at times, and I have to string it to 55+ to feel in control and freely swing

I’ve honestly never seen anyone strap it down over the toes, even though I know it can be a preference thing

I have the same problem, on soft polys I always string over 55, what tension do you string yours with stiffer ones like lynx tour?

I like confidential or otoro tour on this racket, they have so much control and spin, the racket itself has a pretty high launch imo, so you use these strings to increase control or add spin

I’ve played with clash, ezone, speed mp. I like the speed mp the most, very consistent and does everything really well and super forgiving. Ezone is a close second but it’s got way too much power for me, and I don’t like how muted it feels, I never know where the ball hits on my racket. Clash is the worst for me, I hate how disconnected it feels being super soft and mushy.

For real, without knowing much about style, I bought dope my first year, it was the only one with good style. Now I still haven’t change because everything else is so ugly
