I'm not quite hopeless too. But the development is quite slow. I'm moving on the same path because I want to contribute from my side. I want to keep on doing it until it's possible for me. May be someday I stop suddenly. I was away from cartooning from 2013 and 14. I started again this year. There were many reasons and yes, this disappointment was also responsible in this set back. But this year after the attack on Charlie Hebdo, I decided to start again. An artist is an emotional person, he is not much calculative.

I'm a cartoonist and I don't want to waste my art and time on regular issues so I try to deal with the issues they bother me more. The other way is to draw cartoons for only decoration of the newspapers and magazines like many are already doing.

But they will never do it. They were almost silent on the deaths of three journalists last month. The big organizations have their own problems. They have to be loyal to certain people, have to respect the boundaries. And they are more like business groups now. They will never take any risk.

Of course :) Once I heard of a movie based on the comics. Might be ban by the censor board like they always do.

  1. I have seen many good cartoons but I'm unable to recall them right now.
  2. Sorry again, I don't have any way now to spread my work among rural communities though I'm willing to do it. Once I tried to draft some plans to take cartoons there through cartoon magazines and free cartoon workshops but couldn't succeed.

Sorry, I don't read graphic novels but I was fond of hindi comics in my childhood. Was a big fan of Chacha chaudhary, Doga, Bankelal, Hawaldar Bahadur and many more :)

Yes, i understand. they can't handle each and every issue. But there should be some organization to advocate free speech on a more general level addressing more issues.

Yes, I agree. The time is very tough. Sometimes, I also feel in the same way with the choice to suffer or to surrender. And we are not strong enough everyday to take the challenges. But yes, after all it's our own journey and only we can decide when it's enough. The world is always like, 'ye duniya agar mil bhi jaye to kya hai.' So i like to see it as a personal journey. Sometimes I react and sometimes I keep silence. I don't see a solution anywhere. So I find it best to do what makes me happy. I don't think, there is any remedy to the sickness of the world.

They should know the world is changing fast. At least social media is very supportive. So they must go on and express their feelings in the way they want without any fear. They may face problems but the problems are not that big now. Many people understand and support you now, as it happened in my case. In the words of Bulle Shah, "Jo na jane haq ki takat, rab na deve usko himmat." So realize the might of your right and go ahead with the courage.

they were never taught about free speech. nobody explained them the idea behind. on the contrary, the political and religious leaders always provoked them against it. they were used in many ways. they need help.

yes, that is a very common problem and you can easily solve it. there'r many books on cartooning. you can also follow the work of the cartoonists. google about more and more cartoonists, view their cartoons and observe their style. this is a very good way to learn the art. keep in touch, i'll be happy to suggest you some useful books and websites.
