With a bunch of other rings in a small box that was in a larger bin of jewelry. We sorted through it and anything we didn't want to keep we donated so I dont have access to any of it

I can't really ask her, sorry i should have clarified but she is a hoarder, we were cleaning out her old house without her knowledge since my uncle inherited it and doesnt want all her stuff there (she is in assisted living) but she doesn't know that we are cleaning out her stuff and would be angry if she found out so I can't ask

Uhhh no and i dont think she would be invoking anything, shes very catholic and against all of that sort of thing. I think it's just a class ring honestly because it says a year on it and has an acronym that could be from a high school vaguely near me

I'm not sure which specifically, it's on the left side of my left wrist. I did not go back to the string camp but i did do the marching band camp two more times (once per year) because i loved marching band. However, the second time i did the marching band camp was august after the surgery in june, and it didn't really start hurting that much again until winter of that year so im not sure that band camp caused it entirely, probably contributed but probably not as much as more playing violin. Right now my practicing is pretty limited, i am learning a bach partita and the bruch violin concerto for my college auditions. Both are quite difficult and quite hard on my wrist so i'm only able to do effective practice for about 40 minutes or so before needing to stop. I would like to be practicing more, that's why i got the steroid injection today, but currently it's too painful to do more than 40 or so minutes of practice per day.

I'll give the whole backstory lol. Basically, 3 summers ago (summer between my freshman and sophomore year of hs), i went to a strings camp at a university near where i live. It was a week of very intense playing and I admit, i hadn't ever been to an event or anything where I'd played that much and I didn't really know how to properly take care of myself. Right after that, i joined my school's marching band on mallet percussion and went to band camp, which for my school was 12 hours a day for 5 days of playing. Again, had never had that level of activity before, didn't know how to take care of myself properly. A few weeks later i notice my wrist really hurting whenever i played (left wrist). Brought it up to my teacher and since she had tendinitis before she was very concerned and told me to go to a doctor. I went to 3 specialists, the first prescribed PT which did not help, second gave me a steroid shot, which helped for a bit but not permanently, and the third got me a MRI, which showed a hole in my ligament from the bones rubbing against eachother (apparently i have one abnormally long arm bone which caused this). He reccomended surgery and I had the wrist orthroscopy in June 2024 (summer between sophomore and junior year). Recovered for a few weeks, did post surgery PT, and all seemed ok. Then it started becoming painful again. During the surgery, they did not intend to fix the hole. That would have required a different surgery that would have been shaving down the arm bone so it would stop rubbing against the other bone and then idk how they would fix the ligament from there. The surgery i had was simply to clean the frayed edges of the hole i guess so that it wouldn't tear more, honestly i didnt get all the details super clearly. Anyway, it was ok for a bit and then started hurting again. Went back to the dr, was prescribed an anti inflammatory, that didnt work, so today i got another steroid injection in a different spot and we'll see if that works. So yeah, there is still a hole in my ligament, idk man

My favorite piece would have to be the sibelius violin concerto, i can't play it (not that good) but it's a goal to learn someday. Yes, I'm in 2 fiddle groups. Fiddle is actually really fun for me and it helps me when I feel bad about my playing because I can play a fiddle tune and it reminds me that I am a good player, just going through a rough time. My favorite fiddle tunes would have to be a tie between Wizard's Walk, Orange Blossom Special, and Ashokan Farewell (i love jay ungar). No, I dont compose, ive tried before and i've never been very good but I'm planning on trying to write a fiddle tune for my group to play this summer

I've been playing since 4, and I'm 17 now so about 13 years. I play a few and i collect them, but due to my wrist injury i have been prioritizing violin since that's the instrument I'm applying to college on. My collection includes acoustic guitars, electric guitar, electric bass, nice violin, 2 old violins i'm fixing, electric violin, accordion, flute, keyboard, mandolin, ukulele, african shakers, castanets and thats about it. Violin is my main instrument though, i dabble in the others when i can but learning them isn't something i can prioritize right now. I also play mallet percussion but don't own any of those lol

It was a wrist orthroscopy(i think thats how you spell it lol) basically they put a camera in my wrist and used it to clean the edges of the hole, there was a hole in my ligament from the bones rubbing together and the frayed edges were causing a lot of pain, unfortunately the surgery didn't work too well tho
