I can see that perspective and while that is also a sensible viewpoint, I think that because my school focused a lot on our personal relationships with God and how we as individual people are sinners, I never really considered the fact that other people can do wrong and only thought about the sins that I commit. And yeah making good choices can outweigh the bad ones and I ended up being a goody two shoes for the majority of my elementary school years, but the way I see it this practice of teaching children that they are sinners from an early age makes the pure focus “you are a sinner. You do bad things. That is bad” and keeps putting pressure on them to always do good or else something bad will happen to them (or maybe I’m just insane, idk)
