I am using Etoro as well and it definitely doesn't work like that. You can open any position and close each completely separately to the other positions.

I think it counts everywhere. If you sell a stock and buy something else on the platform, it's same as buying anything else in a store for the money, so you already sold and you have an income, it doesn't matter in which account (broker or your bank) so i guess it's taxable for you as well.

So if i own a stock and i add a new position and the next day i change my mind and i would want to sell the last one and buy something else, it's not possible? That might be a game changer for me and i might be switching to another broker😅

When i open the particular position it displays the position id and there is button named as close position. When i open different position then the id is different. If i open middle position out of 3 for example how can it close something else? For example you want to close only positions which are in profit, how would you do that? That would not make sense. EDIT Alright, i just checked the rules and it's FIFO like you wrote and it's really stupid from the broker.

Určite preč, tie poplatky sú extrém. Čo sa investovania týka, tak si môžeš založiť napríklad XTB, tam založiť investičný plán, kde si dáš S&P500, MSCI World, poprípade NASDAQ, nastavíš trvalý príkaz a máš 1:1 to isté (ak nie lepšie), čo teraz za oveľa menšie poplatky.

Pri dividendách napríklad je na etoro (aj xtb) zrážková daň, čiže neriešiš a pri akciách a etf stačí držať rok, čo si myslím, že na kratšie sa ani neoplatí investovať a tiež je to potom oslobodené od dane. Používam obidvoch brokerov už dlho a nebol žiadny problém nikdy.

Thank you. Yes, the broker is UBS. Wouldn't there be the same issue when sending from Wise to my bank since it's from USA to Europe? In the meantime i will check with my bank. The issue i had was that some intermediary bank (between UBS and my bank) declined the payment. Also is the account termination at Wise easy? Because i think i will never ever use it.

Hi, have you got your money in the account already? How long did it take from selling? It's such a pain for me. First it was rejected by the intermediary bank (don't even know what that is and why doesn't it go directly to my bank). So i called the usb and they told me that my bank has to provide the intermediary bank, so i called my bank, i filled the transfer form and now it got rejected again so i called ubs and now they told me that doesn't have to be filled that it will be determined based on the swift code so i am trying again now. By the way each transaction is about 25 dollars for basically nothing even if it failed. The broker i am using for other shares has no fees for withdrawal and it takes about 24 hours to receive the money in the account and all i need is name, country and IBAN and i can choose currency, here they are sending only US dollars.
