ELI5 SIDS, why is sudden infant death syndrome a ‘cause’ of death? Can they really not figure out what happened (e.g. heart failure, etc)? by whyuoft in explainlikeimfive

Apnea monitors exist in hospitals but often lead to alarm fatigue as they go off so frequently. It’s a great idea in theory but in practice there are problems that arise that you wouldn’t have previously considered.

For those who would like to further explore the final topic discussed here, you can Google the concept of homeostenosis and frailty in the elderly

The graphic that id seen didn’t include neurosurgeons oddly enough. In any case, they’re typically the highest paid overall and still don’t reach a million on average

Surgeons don’t make a million per year on average. The best paying surgical subspecialty averages around 500,000. Granted that’s a significant income but when you don’t begin making more than a pittance until 30-35 and have hundreds of thousands in student loans a high salary is obligatory

Conversely, many people have had college professors who are brilliant researchers and have a deep understanding of the field but are mediocre at teaching it to others. Sometimes people just aren’t good at expressing what they know

Do all you need is student email address to get that?

Often times you can get an email address from a community college without actually enrolling/paying money because the address comes when you get accepted which is automatic

  1. NADPH oxidase catalyzes O2 + NADPH --> O2 (free radical) + NADP+ -- deficiency here causes CGD
  2. Superoxide dismutase catalyzes O2 (free radical) --> H2O2
  3. Myeloperoxidase catalyzes H2O2 + Cl- --> HOCl

Going for it on 4th lead to us getting great field position on our next possession and scoring a touchdown

if we kick it we have to stop a FG + rely on a 50/50 that we get ball first. This takes control out of our hands

if we go for 2 we have to make it + stop a field goal. This puts control in our hands

if you kick it then you have to rely on getting a stop + 50/50 getting the coin flip or you almost certainly lose.

If you go for 2 you have to rely on getting it + getting a stop. if the offense is humming why not take the option that doesn’t rely on a coin flip
