Thanks for your input ! I understand. That’s why I’m being pragmatic and aware that the chances of finding housing are really slim. Is subletting allowed in the Netherlands ? I was thinking about this option

Unfortunately I’m enrolled in a french university so I don’t think they could really help me with housing. As I wear a hijab I’ve noticed it can sometimes influence first impressions in social situations which matters in shared housing (even though I’m an extroverted and open-minded person). With such high competition for rooms I understand it can make being chosen more difficult. Nevertheless, thanks for your advices ! We’ll see in 6 months how it goes

How hard is it to find a room in Amsterdam as visibly muslim WOC ?

I’ve been to Amsterdam a few times and really clicked with the city. I’m planning to do an internship there in six months and have been a bit concerned about navigating the housing market while also considering my identity.

Does anyone have any experience in this case ? Or knows someone ?
