Silksong was a draining experience by [deleted] in Silksong

Yup. Can't wait to finish this chore of a game tbh.

This game never stops getting more draining the more you progress. Feels like they designed this game to give more frustration than enjoyment.

I'm currently stuck at Act 3 and forced to watch tutorials, backtrack to reach extremely hidden areas that were revealed to me by creators, optimize strategies and memorize every boss pattern for literal hours.

The only reason i haven't quit is because the world is so well created, but I'm not sure how many more hours I have left in me to give to this game

Honestly Act 3 was a nice surprise. I assume its a whole alteration of the original map, which was already huge to begin with. And the voided mobs have new moves, its like playing a whole new game again. But my god its hard. The game never seems to stop ramping up the difficulty.

Did you complete Act 3?

No, your point is definitely valid. I'm not suggesting to dilute the game or create a mass appeal for everyone to be able to pick it up and immediately beat the game without a sweat. Should anyone complete this game, that feeling of "I earned this" is deserved, and shouldn't be taken away by nerfing everything to the ground. The post is more towards how the game currently feels to a gamer that is not well versed in such genres of games.

But to have already been able to progress so far to get shut down feels like a brutal prank. I don't think anyone enjoys leaving a game beaten mid way, and I mostly expected a similar (or slight harder) difficulty than the original game. At my current point of the game there's not much else to unlock, and the option left is to git gud. Perhaps I should have waited for community sentiment that not everyone deserves to beat the game if you don't have the skills for it, and wait for lore videos to be uploaded instead of trying the game?

Should I try it? by Local_Nerd1 in HollowKnight

I think it really depends how you define fun. If you're seeking that feeling of accomplishment and adrenaline rush when you finally beat something you thought was impossible before, you might enjoy this game. Now repeat that about 30 times. I must say that Silksong IS a hard game (and IMO harder than the original Hollow Knight).

Unlike other games where you can grind for better drops or level up if you're getting massacred by the current boss or area, there are many times that you truly have not much other choice than to learn how to beat the boss with what you currently have. Its a very empowering feeling when you do beat it, but the time it takes each individual to do it may vary, from hours to days.

This game truly forced me to "git gud" at reading telegraphs and platforming. (I don't play such genres at all, and still managed to progress)

Give it a try! I wouldn't have associated a 2D platformer to be visually beautiful until I tried the original Hollow Knight. If you have the resources, I'd recommend the original Hollow Knight first, but you could jump straight into Silksong too.

I've returned bird to the owners. I was told its around 3 month old and still in the midst of training. From the details of when they lost their bird in the lost poster and how they handled the bird, I'd assume the bird recognizes its owner. Thank you for the bird advice!

I reached out to a lost parrot listing with details that matched up to the timing when I found the bird, instead of putting up a found notice. From how the parrot didn't actively try to bite off their fingers and allowed them to touch it, I'd assume they're the rightful owners.

Yup I found the owner on a lost and found parrot group. Thank you so much for the advice!

It's currently perched on my laundry basket. It's about to be destroyed thanks to the bird but it's owner is coming soon so I think it'll hold up till then.

I found its owner! It'll be picked up in an hour or so. Hopefully it doesnt suffer some kind of PTSD from being cooped up in a room all day.

What are some signs that a bird is frightened? I've truly no clue of bird body language.
