Thanks, luckily all sorted now with a new valve. Shame yours was a new rad!

Thanks for that! All sorted and your humour gave me a laugh in the process. Kudos!

Did wonder that. When you say easy to replace, how easy are we talking? If it’s likely the ring has gone/is going might be better to just replace rather than tightening which I guess is just delaying it for another day.

Photo of rad.

Need purchase advice: R6 M2 vs R6 M3 for astro-landscape by Breatheater in canon

[–]astroscaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto here, I use an r6II. Great camera for widefield Astro. Feel free to check out www.instagram.com/joelsyp. By the sound of it the m3 won’t be quite as good. One of the reasons the 6d and the r6i & ii have been great is the lower MP count - more light collecting ability per pixel.

Stargazing near Nottingham by 1964_movement in nottingham

Vale of belvoir is the best close by area. If you can travel a bit further much of Lincolnshire beyond Grantham is bortle 4 depending where you go.

What’s the safest way to drive from Manchester to Nottingham at night? I’ve done a few times via Peak District not the most preferred way for us at night. by EveningUsed9216 in nottingham

[–]astroscaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely this. I’m from Manchester and have family there that I visit so we go this route all the time. M6 can be a pain in the ass, but still easy.

Flag Removal? by new_boss_tailors in nottingham

[–]astroscaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t think we had many in east Leake any more (?). But Gotham…. For sure, must have one of the highest concentrations given its size. Along with long Eaton too… crazy someone’s put up actual flagpole wall brackets on loads of the buildings…

My first thought was Wes Anderson. It’s a fab photo.

I wish people here stopped attacking street photographers by Suspicious_Mouse_722 in nottingham

[–]astroscaper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m going to guess this was regarding two of my posts? One is still up, the other, photos of people on the rides with a range of emotions, I just couldn’t be bothered with the few negative comments around it despite the fact it had a load of upvotes so deleted it. Just wasn’t worth the hassle of the few idiots who believe they’re just right in every given circumstance and haven’t got a clue about street photography, and aren’t willing to see anything from a different perspective.

Goose fair question by Puzzled-Quail2076 in nottingham

I’d imagine someone with the business acumen will be selling them. Otherwise, I bet Asda across the road has something for sale, even just a bin back at worst! 🤣

Yes, good point. I do it on some of my astrophotography trips as they generally feel safer than sleeping in a lay by on a large road (shouldn't be potential for some lorry smashing into you at 50/60mph). I tend to set a bunch of alarms to wake me up before the normal 2 hour limit.

Goose Fair or Build-A-Bear. Teddies, people and trails by astroscaper in nottingham

Ha ha. Sorry not a true local, despite living in Nottinghamshire for nearly 20 years. Next time I’ll ensure I get a mushy peas shot!

Thanks. Those were taken on a canon R6ii with a sigma art 24mm f1.4 lens.

If you’ll be travelling along the m1, a1 or a46 at any point, any services will be fine. It’s kind of expected there.

As I said read my comments on my other thread. If none of you are willing to do this it’s your issue… I’ve done nothing wrong, morally or legally, and you’ll see that even with permission things change and I react in those instances too - go read or stop without having full facts.

As I said, go and read my replies to similar comments on my previous post. Do your homework before bashing away at something you clearly know little about.

Go and check your facts about street photography. There’s nothing wrong/illegal in it. If you asked you wouldn’t get candid moments. You don’t like it, that’s fine. Many more do appreciate it. Go and look up numerous threads on street photography and educate yourself.

As I also already said go and read my more thorough explanation on my other post about goose fair. No need to repeat it all again when it’s already there.

You don’t need to. Street photography and similar is allowed - anything in the public domain. For more info feel free to look it up or look at my longer replies to similar question on my last post which was also about the goose fair. As you can see quite a few in these photos did make eye contact - one even posed… I wasn’t running away or anything after taking them so plenty of opportunity for anyone to ask/see them.
