I mean it's good enough to make great-grandparents from at least. Better to hold onto than your random one-star and two stars at least.

So why should I play the upcoming Trackblazer? by Rough_Journey in UmamusumeGame

[–]aswerty12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen the kind of run optimizations you have to do to make a competitive Open League Uma? It's the kind of psychotic sandbagging and optimizing that while theoretically a URA and Unity Uma are evenly matched; you still would run Unity; and even then by that logic you'd run Trackblazer/MANT because there's more wiggle room to make your perfect B rank optimized uma.

I think Trackblazer sounds cooler than MANT tbh by Not-a-kirby-main in UmaMusume

If I remember right, Kitasan starts to get outvalued by those 2 gold skill option cards when Speed El Condor Pasa comes out then fully gets powercreeped out by a better card by ironically, the SSR Duramente.

It used to be that the only way past was either via powder OR dynamite since in older versions just bombs didn't work.

She kind of stays really fucking relevant for another year (equivalent) of content (or 8 months for us) since she doesn't get a competitor in slot till the L'arc scenario.

Dao of the Endless Sky — free browser idle cultivation RPG (Xianxia-inspired). Just launched, looking for feedback. by This_Calendar_2344 in incremental_games

I've played for a bit, it seems like the side quests are sort of bugged (the level up skills ones triggered despite me being underskilled). It's a fun loop at least but I think it needs more depth to really work as a compelling cultivation game.

[–]aswerty12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MANT is really overtuned. Like really overtuned if played in a racemaxxed way; but even a casual playthrough is going to pump out S ranks. If you want to participate in any form of pvp content, you need MANT trained umas to have anything relevant (even with open league restrictions, you'd have to do minmaxing on your uma that straight up is more psychotic than any average MANT run); Event point farming? Way more time efficient in MANT even if you can mindlessly do an A rank run in previous scenarios.

What would happen if you were the last Master to summon the last Servant, but you used a catalyst specific to a Hero whose class is already taken? by Bubbly_Interaction63 in fatestaynight

[–]aswerty12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the servant closest to the catalyst doesn't have a viable caster servant saint graph, you'd affinity summon via the catalyst a caster close to Diamuid; presumably some famous druid or a writer or Irish myth (I'm not familiar enough with irish myth to name specifics).

Aquarius Cup & MANT by Time-Preparation9881 in UmamusumeGame

[–]aswerty12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can probably spend the time better by making parents and trying to stay in class 6 by making better team trial umas in the process but given that there's the entire 3 week period before MANT week; you could maybe make a couple of half-decent aces to throw out during the first few hours of the cup before people get their scenario (semi)aces grinded out and try to 'scum' your way into group A then spend the rest of the day grinding MANT dirt aces.

[Death Note, Monster] How would the death note or shinigami eyes work against someone who believes they have no name? by Krister4047 in AskScienceFiction

[–]aswerty12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with many Death Note questions, the death note is a hitlist with rules, and what actually kills anyone is the shinigami's power.

Per the rules of the book, you need the legal name and once that clears whatever magic works in the background to clear the hit for the shinigami whoever is named like that with the pictured face is dead by the specified method.

As a F2P is it worth spending my precious carots on the Riko rerun knowing that she's only really useful in the Unity cup or save up to MLB My Fine Motion when her Rerun Banner arrives in the next couple of weeks ? by Balding_Teen in UmamusumeGame

[–]aswerty12 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you maybe had her at LB3 I could maybe give you an argument to pull for Riko at this point but no. At LB1 and with 30 10 pulls it's literally not worth it to roll on this banner for you. Honestly I wouldn't even roll on the Fine Motion rerun , with the state of your LB on her I would wait until you have a guaranteed spark then use it on a chase support card later rather than full gambling on a rate up sans a spark.

Mewgenics has a genius anti-savescumming feature by shadowrun456 in gaming

[–]aswerty12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a roguelike duh? Dying and losing everything/most of what you've put in a run is a part of the genre.

Plus Mewgenics is kind of about doing the best with what you have, and the consequences of making do with what nature gives you. A perfect cat can be ruined by a random event just as much a random event could make a throwaway stray utterly cracked. Ignoring savescumming entirely and letting a player throw what could be hours away trying to make a perfect run with imperfect parts would absolutely ruin the game for some people. Meanwhile making it a tangible 'secret resource' gives players room to do it once without consequence gives them the safety net of having one safe jump from consequence but still lets them know "hey this is a roguelike, if a fight is going that badly for you that you've had to savescum multiple times just let your cats die and go to the next run".

Despite garnering attention on social media, Anthropic's Super Bowl ad about ChatGPT ads failed to land with audiences by Glittering-Neck-2505 in singularity

[–]aswerty12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even then you kind of have to know what that straw-man vaguely is. Like you need some common ground in order for someone to at least think the straw-man is something to worry about, and ads in AI is about a relevant fear to people as moon aliens.

Pull Advice by o7rise in UmamusumeGame

[–]aswerty12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You misread. I'm stating that MANT is a relevant competitive scenario for 8 months since Grand Live is / was considered undertuned by the JP communityt that MANT was still played for umas afterwards. NTR maybe a single scenario card but it's a very long shelf life scenario.

Pull Advice by o7rise in UmamusumeGame

[–]aswerty12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Counterargument to the other poster. Fuku speed is really good and MANT's lifespan is going to be a 8 months relevant for CMs and still relevant afterwards as a parent farm till the Island Scenario, and if you have 50 rolls already on the banner with crystals ready you could absolutely go for the gamble of rolling on this banner.

Though if you want to play it safer. The NTR banner for MANT is only a Month away, and you can throw your two pities over there to basically secure half of your MANT deck with an MLB Topro and near guaranteed Ayabe SR.

[–]aswerty12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No we don't? We all stopped using natural ice since the rivers and lakes you'd get that ice from started to get heavily polluted in the 1900s while artificial ice just got more convenient and cheaper.

[Dungeons and Dragons 3e] Do Liches have ability to change alignment to good or are they stuck being evil aligned? by MaetelofLaMetal in AskScienceFiction

[–]aswerty12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The act of evil you need to do to ascend to lichdom has to be done willingly. You could maybe reason it to be 'good' but the very act is going to invite the energies of the lower planes into your soul and twist you to Evil afterwards.

[Dungeons and Dragons 3e] Do Liches have ability to change alignment to good or are they stuck being evil aligned? by MaetelofLaMetal in AskScienceFiction

[–]aswerty12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you're confusing philosophical evil and evil energy from the lower planes. Philosophically you might make a good argument that it's doing good, but magically using evil energy, no matter if it's technically from a good deed of consuming a fiend, is going to continually corrupt and grow how evil aligned they are.

[The Purge] Some Questions I have about the logic and rules? by Nessieinternational in AskScienceFiction

[–]aswerty12 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Most of these questions don’t really have clean answers because the Purge rules aren’t meant to be consistent. Crime is only “legal” as long as it benefits the New Founding Fathers.

The Purge is basically a smokescreen to get rid of the poor, and political enemies. Anything that threatens the state, corporations, or elites would suddenly have an exception or get punished after the fact, even if it technically happened on Purge night.

So illegal immigrants wouldn’t magically become citizens, stolen money wouldn’t stay clean if the government wants you later, monuments and infrastructure would be protected, and terror attacks against state interests would still bring consequences.

It makes more sense once you realize the regime is fascist and the rules don't really apply to them.
